Base just means minimum guaranteed, it doesn't mean that's what you pay and cannot expect to pay a cent more.
It's there for convenience's sake, not as the valuation figure.


If I buy an old commercial place for 2m and spend 500k to renovate and have to give the previous owner 20% of the next 48 months' rent, the cost is not 2m, it's whatever the end amount is. I cannot go around saying I got a steal for 2m.

Even if you want to pretend that I'm wrong about Marotta-Lukaku, I cannot also be wrong about Marotta-Barella, Marotta-Eriksen, Marotta-Barbosa sale, Marotta-Bremer debacle etc. You know that shit and you're less biased to take it in because apparently you cannot envisage this being the case with Romelu. Well, we've managed to get stuck with Lukaku for some reason and Hakimi wasn't a "Conte recruit". Thats was actually Lazaro. Still around last I checked.

Correa was never the first choice of the club or coach and did not come to be a starter. Why would I have the same expectations or demands?

Cabral is a good player that needs some time to adjust and the role he is occupying doesn't really suit him. A similar case with Gabriel Barbosa but with less pressure on him. I don't care if he explodes or not, I'd rather pay 10m for him than 35m for fucking Abraham who's missing a sitter after sitter and can mostly score with his dick or knee if it isn't his head which is one of the few things he does well.
