He fails his last mission. Allegri joins Juve. He will follow him next year when his contract expires. Marotta is too smart not to extend a “project” with not a single penny in his pocket.

And that chair there at Juve is still empty after Paratici sacking.

Good guy Inter could let him go this year and give him 7M for his service. Zhang masterclass.

Thank God we have him but I don't think he can save us either.

We don't know how things went down, but I suspect Marotta was on Conte's corner till the last moment, hoping to retain the coach and continue the project he started. Hence Inter probably don't have a plan for the new coach yet, and it may take a while. We possibly came close to Marotta quitting. I would have been very worried if Marotta quit. Till we have Marotta at the helm, I have this confidence (maybe a fools confidence) that we will make a reasonable choice of coach under whatever budget constraints we have.

My big concern at the moment is what is that budget. If what the media is saying is true (80m capital gains + 20% wage reduction), then we are looking at a serious downgrade of ambitions. Hopefully the media is not accurate as often is the case, and things aren't that bad.

This is the first time he has to have an actual playbook.

Let's see if he's up to the task or just an overrated disciplinarian.

Marotta: "Yesterday, there was a protest here at Inter HQ. The most and the simplest thing that I could do then was to meet with three representatives (of Curva Nord). I painted the picture of the situation. They understood and their press release today showed it."

Is it 80m capital gain or just 80m sale?

Don't have one.

And people thought I was bullshiting yesterday when I posted this.

Also in that curva nord statement they seemed pretty assured by marotta, so maybe the best case scenario of only sacrificing one player still happens.

Marotta: "At Inter only by losing stadium income we lost 70 million euro's, that's four months of wages. Yesterday fans protested at the HQ, the easiest thing I thought I could do was to talk to the three persons. I described the situation, The Curva understood"

"In football you can't get a salary cap, but a rule was brought in from the 21/22 season. We can't raise the cost of work in difference from what we have the 30th of June this year. The coming years you have to lower costs by 15-20%"

“We don’t know who the coach is yet,” he said. “We should unofficially secure our new coach by this evening.”

Marotta also discussed Conte’s exit, determined to walk away due to financial cuts at the club.

“Conte is a winner, he manages to achieve success by using up an extraordinary amount of energy. He puts his heart and soul into it. At a certain point, he feels it’s time to take a break and reflect.

“He has the DNA of a winner, typical of many champions. He sees victory as almost an illness. He did it at Juve and Inter, in environments where there were many difficulties. Much of the credit for the Scudetto has to go to Conte.”

Fuck, the first sentence means Inzaghi is our coach. Fuck fuck fuckity fuck. I hope he is better than I think.

Marotta's words on Conte also suggests that Inter are financially fucked, and that our ambitions will be lowered. Double fuck.

Our ambitions will be lowered? Holly fuck, how do you realise that ?
I thought selling one or two of our best players without proper replacemetn and the need to reduce the payroll will increase our ambitions! Fucking UCL baby, we are coming!

Hope you know what you're doing by choosing Inzaghi over Sarri.

To be honest, Inzaghi is the easier option here. In the sense that Sarri is more expensive with his salary but also requires overhaul in the squad, at least much bigger compared to Inzaghi who requires basically no changes at all. I mean Sarri isn't demanding the changes himself, he copes with what is given to him, but to get the better results from him, he needs his type of players to play his type of football.

He won't stay though if there is no real project from the owners to send the club in the next level and compete for CL.
Why should he bother to keep the club competing while the owners are only worried to repay the debt so that they can sell the club and get higher profit.

Sarri already offered by his agent, Marotta know we are broke and can't buy the players Sarri want. We need players for his 4-3-3 formation.

In other hand Inzaghi already get his 3-5-2 formation players from Conte.
