@brehme you actually right, if we excluding Borja and Keita we probably can add Gagliardini into the list. But think Spalletti prefer to have more attacking player in UCL.

Our main focus this year should be reaching CL again and trying to not spend too much on new players when the summer comes unless if we sell Icardi.

It’s a no-brainer to include Gagliardini over Lautaro. We already have 5 other experienced forwards, so excluding a totally inexperienced 6th one wouldn’t hurt us as much as excluding a starting midfielder who is also btw with Italy’s NT now. I have no idea how Spalletti fucked up his priorities this bad.

At this point the only forwards I would not sacrifice to fit Gagliardini in the list are the obvious Icardi and Perisic. Other then that, I would include Gagliardini over any of our other forwards - and that's not because I think Gagliardini is amazing, but because state of the midfield and the alternatives are hideous. The thought of going to Camp Nou or wherever the fuck Tottenham's new stadium is, playing an assortment of Vecino, Valero, Brozovic, Nainggolan and Asamoah makes me sick to even think about. There's such little reliable and true quality in that midfield even with Gagliardini let alone without him.

I can't believe Gagliardini is being treated as some trade-off consideration instead of the most obvious name in midfield alongside Brozovic.

IIRC, in the early July, after he arrived in Italy, there was an interview with his agent where he clearly stated that Inter promised that they would include him to CL squad when they negotiated the deal with Lautaro and Racing.

I doubt that Inter will break those promises.

Either way Spaletti would have made it work. I wonder if that's why he wanted to give Vecino the start in the first 2 games anyway - sabotaging the team early to get him ready for CL.
