I’m sure Cavani would love to join Inter if the salary isn’t too much of a pay cut and we offer a 3 year contract. His time at PSG has been drama filled through no fault of his own and he would love to play at club level with Vecino and Godin. The problem is why would PSG sell him?

They are already potentially losing Neymar. Although they’re not the same position it’s another player they would need to replace and I’m not sure if Mbappe is ready to lead the line by himself. Then there is the issue of the fee, how much is Cavani really worth to us? How much is he worth to PSG? Something tells me those numbers are very different. Oh and he’s 32 so if we are still bringing Dzeko that would be a lot to move on in 2 or 3 years time and we may see diminishing returns as early as next year.

I don't think Marotta would agree to that. There's only 1yr contract left for Cavani and 2yrs for Icardi, not to mention their age differences. We'll look stupid if sole exchange occurs. Speaking of which, why haven't we offered Icardi to ManU in exchange for Lukaku, yet? On such case, a mere exchange would seem fair.
