Eh come on. This sport has been shit for the last 10 years. It feels like it's all a promo for FIFA video games instead of the other way around.

The sport needed this to pique interest as well.

my, bad. someone said it was on bbc, but now someone confirmed it was fake.

Romano- There’s *nothing* stated, official or confirmed yet about next Champions League and Europa League matches “temporarily suspended”. No press release, *nothing* decided yet. UEFA meeting in the next hours will clarify this point.

Football peaked in the 2000s. Nothing wrong with changing up format.

My only concern is the "permanence" of these clubs.

Football did not peak in the 2000's, you have a nostalgic preference for it.

According to Diario AS, Italian, Spanish and English federations are seriously considering to cancel the leagues for this season or not award the trophy if the teams involved in Super League win.

By the way, if you’re all following that Real Madrid news page on Twitter for updates on this, half of what they’re spouting is bullshit. CL and EL games have not been suspended

Us now winning the scudetto because we are apart of this is hilariously the most Inter thing that Inter can do to itself. It's fucking hilarious in a brutal way.

Agreed, league wise it shouldn’t matter what competition the top clubs want to play in as it doesn’t affect the league.

I'm pretty sure we can take this up to CAS in Switzerland and they'll decide in our favour. We had an agreement at the start of the league season. It shouldn't be changed last minute.

Actually FIGC can justifiably do this. It's actually "fuck Inter mgmt and ownership" for fucking up our first scudetto in a decade.

This will be the biggest footballing club competition of all time. Heck, it might even compete with the World Cup.

And now the clubs respond with a coordinated press release on each of their websites.

Such a travesty and a betrayal, especially if it costs Inter the Scudetto. It's money that matters...how sad.

Dude they already have a website going, its all over for uefa

https://thesuperleague.com/

Best case scenario for them is they become competition for teams like lazio or everton.

Interesting that Inter's logo appears with the proposed stadium project in the background as opposed to Milan with the San Siro.

Edit: Also in general, football has been about money for a long time. Improvements and development cost money. Economic prosperity is not only an end in and of itself, but also a necessary condition for the existence of things, in this case entertainment.

I think people are just very afraid of change in something as traditional as football, but only time will tell whether this is a project worth pursuing or not. I mostly am concerned about the national leagues becoming meaningless, which would be a shame as it would create some real stratification.

All I know is that the people that thought about this know how to count their money and they must be pretty certain about the profitability of this project.

Lol... Money has always been what's mattered. People are acting like these players are broke and playing for the spirit of the game.
