It's also worth nothing that any financial gains will only increase the difference between the English teams involved and the others.

How? have you seen the existing gaps betwen epl and us? what do we know about the money distribution? so why are we talking about this

yes and that's enough proof to know that the gap will also increase. EPL teams have A LOT more money than Serie A teams the way things are. This would obviously increase with the super league even if the funds there are distributed evenly. There would literally be no catching up. Even non-EPL clubs outside of the competition will be more fucked than the EPL clubs who won't participate in this league.

Why are we talking about this? Are we not allowed? Didn't you bring up "muh hundreds of millions" a few pages back? why are you talking about it?

This surely is the lowest point of this club. Being obliterated 0-6 in Derby, losing Scudetto at 2002 at the last match, and losing to Novara home seemed mild compared to be the founding club of the capitalism shithole called superleague.

This is the reason why I think Bayern and PSG will join as well. Those competitions are pointless.

PSGs owner owns BEIN Sports who televises UEFA games. The issue is the money UEFA keeps thats why teams want to create a super league that pays them more. UEFA made over 3.5 billion Euros and only distributes 2 billion to clubs.

This can never go right. And for us to participate in this just right when we finally gained the fruit of our hard work throughout the years and about to win the Scudetto for the first time in years, makes it even more idiotic.

Only one word to describe all of this... “selfish”

We couldn't throw our scudetto away on the pitch so we took to the boardrooms to do it. Nice.

Absolute shower of shit this "Super League", the beauty of the Champions League is for me:

1. Qualifying for the CL; Good domestic season is needed to even achieve the qualification to CL, which during last 10 years time hasn't been an automatic achievement and it never should be, even for a huge club like Inter.

2. Draw to the group stages; Depending on the seeding and luck you might get an easy group or "group of death" like we've had last years. For me even the draw is exciting and there's a big possibility of facing a team you know less of, making it less tedious to face a massive team every time you play.

3. The unpredictability; Sure, there are those clubs who do well every year, but there's always a chance of having some smaller club making a long run to the playoffs and a good chance of upsetting the massive clubs.

4. The gradual rise of the competition; You start slowly, depending your luck with the draw you might face a huge club in the group stage. But as you get longer into the competition you'll face bigger and bigger clubs and the enjoyment gotten from beating those clubs grows.

For the Super League, there's none of this. You automatically get in, play the same 15-20 clubs every year. After a certain amount of time playing against these same big clubs over and over and over again will get tedious for fans. There's no need to worry about getting to the actual competition itself, you're already in it. It's not sports, it's a showcase of the same biggest teams MADE to play against each other every fucking season.

what enough proof? If we get even money with EPL teams that are in SuperLeague and significantly more then EPL teams who are not in Superleague how would that widen the gap?

I talk about hundreds of millions because the 3.5bn will be split by the founding 12 teams, which is 300 million a year, our WHOLE REVENUE THAT WE GET NOW

The 6 English teams in the super league already make MUCH more than us due to TV deals and whatnot, even if we get the same amount as say Arsenal, they will stay make more due to being an English-speaking club with a great TV deal and much better marketing than us. The same goes for the teams that won't be joining the league. I think it's more than fair to say a club like Leicester or even Everton will continue to make more than a club like Roma or Sevilla, as the revenues in the Italian and Spanish will either stagnate or drop as people start to lose interest in domestic competitions and clubs. We are not simply going to get close or have the same sort of revenues as a club like Manchester City or Real Madrid simply by being in this horrid competition. We're going to get very good money, sure, but they do as well.

And that wasn't a literal question. You asked me why I was talking about something as if I wasn't allowed to. I don't care.

I honestly see so much potential in this. People love an upset, but they rarely turn on their TV to watch an onesided match-up. Nobody cares about juve vs lyon.

However, I think they do need to add a lot more of risk and unknown factors to the format. For e.g., the bottom 3 teams will get relegated while the top 4 teams from top 6 leagues will hold a mini tournament to fill these spots.

Imagine Inter being relegated for joining the superleague.. Now they can finally follow in Bbilan and juBe's footsteps.. :yao:

The quality for competitive football has been on a decline for a while now. How I miss teams like Dynamo Kiev, Deportivo, Red Star Belgrade compete for the top honours.
If it wasn't for Inter I would not be following football, but them joining this superleague.. I'am done with it all.
I watch sport because of the competitiveness, not to see them play exhibition matches in the name of money.

If we lose the scudetto because of this, I will leave football behind. Altho UEFA can suck a dick too.

Now there is alot of noise and negativity surrounding this superleague, but in the end I predict most of the people will watch anyway.

I expect UEFA and the owners of these clubs to sit down at the table and have a talk how to proceed. Probably they will link that new league somehow with UEFA.

The super league is nothing new as I recall this was first brought up around the mid 90's by a group of then 8 clubs, including Inter. It never saw the light of day obviously but these 'big clubs have had this on the shelf for decades.

I don't like the idea of it personally. And i believe the way the CL has been raped over the last decade or so has turned it into a money-making shit show.

Idk how long the effect of this will last, but that inaugural season is going to be wild. This will be what finally makes football penetrate the North American market as a major sport.
