So much for Balogun :yao: Inter directors cannot abstain themselves from a discount deal, especially if he`s italian and has been linked to the club before.

I don’t think he would have a super easy time adapting to Italy. He could do well, but I don’t see him exploding right away. Honestly he would probably struggle to get in the starting 11 given that Inzaghi would rather have Morata. If we’re going to make a mistake, better to not make an expensive one.

I was against him last season because of the value Sassuolo demanded. And as a west ham supporter I was also against signing him because it was obvious for anyone who watched him that he didn't suit our counter attacking football and was surprised we signed him.

But at 20m, that's a really fair price for someone like him. I don't think we will get a world beater but a good rotational choice that provides a different style to our other strikers.

And like some said above, he's more safer than Balogun.

Scamacca will never be good enough for the starting line up. It’s just Correa all over again. A player who will never make an impact.

And Balogun will? Based on what?

Whatever you choose to base your opinion on, Sccamaca atm is better than Balogun.

It's a less riskier gamble.

What matters is who is better for the system and what kind of player we need. If we aim for the future, we actually need both Balogun and Scamacca anyway. That would give us our strike force for the next 7 seasons

If you don’t gamble you never win.

if you only go by the safe choice then with Inter budget you will be stuck in mediocrity forever, we already tried that approach that didn’t really turn out that well the last time around. You can not sail safe through this, because the sealing of the safe bet isn’t always that high. We also took the safe bet on Correa, see how that turned out or rather what Inter thought was safe, as it massively backfired.

We also gamble with Frattesi and Samardzic, we could have chosen more safe bet more experienced but we chose players with a potential higher sealing. That is what will move the club up, it might not be successful every single time but when it dos it pays off.

Let’s not forget the Gamble Inter took with Martinez and Bastoni, we could not for certain know these guys would end where they did, what we would have missed out on if we didn’t take that gamble and Inter payed over 30m for a complete unproven defender.

Also Balagun had a much much better Season scoring more then 20 goals…

Why do you think Milan has a better squad than us?

this is the real gamble here. looks like he had many serious injuries in 22/23
no wonder his price went down significantly
Correa V2.0

Inter always find a way to screw an otherwise decent looking market up.

Can’t wait to only have Martinez as our only attacker available when Thuram, Correa and Scamacca are out injured.

Scamacca has 'fringe low impact player on a high salary that cant be gotten rid of before his contract expires' - written all over him.

The Gagliardini of forwards, extremely limited.

I wonder what the true price that Arsenal are asking for Balogun is? A lot of reports had Balogun as our #1 option, but it really does seem like Arsenal want close to 50 million based on recent reports. If it was 40 (I believe 35 + 5 in bonuses was talked about) I believe we would get Balogun but my guess is that price was reported by Italian media and not true reflection of what Arsenal actually want. Obviously, price can go down later in the window.

West Ham training regime is probably Serie D level compared to what Scamacca was used to.

It's all about how much they fucked up his knee rather than worryingly he might have another such season. He's not an injury prone player but bad treatment on the knee can have lasting damage. If he clears our medical when the time comes, it probably means that we saw that there's no long term concerns.
