This was actually a pretty fun game to watch despite the 0-0 scoreline. I was definately rooting for Sweden, though. Too many Trinidad friends of mine are going to be yapping for the rest of their lives now. :D

What's the name of that defender with the dreads, Sacha? Something like that. Absolute beast out there!

No wonder they are Soca Warriors. Zlatan blew it. LOOOL! I hope now he joins Madrid.

About England

Seriously...if an Italian team had played like that, they would have dissed them all the time. This team is a shame to players like gazza, Lineker and Ince. What a bunch of toss pots. I can't wait to see their asses get kicked.
Farkers!!!

:D I went to London during the game with my Italy shirt hoping to piss of some fans. Well, it was great!

The English fans make a great atmosphere in the pubs and streets (just a shame they don't do likewise in the stadiums). After the game it was everyone off to Trafalgar Square to jump into the fountains. They were fucking mad, and all over a 1-0 win over Paraguay! The police are pussies it looked like they were coping with WW3 instead of some drink fans.

Then some magician who had a chainsaw in his act was pissing of some hoolies (saying he was German and shit :star: ) so one of the hoolies took his chainsaw. :D

Then some Trinidad & Tobago fans giving it all mouth then running away when some English came out.

Fabio :dielaugh:

Just finished watching the T&T/Sweden game. Quite the opposite of England/Paraguay, which was a snoozer. Zlatan is even worse than Adriano when it comes missing absolute sitters. I can't believe we have a topic in the transfer forum for this piece of garbage. :wallbang: Props to T&T though, they defended extremely well considering the scenario.

England? I honestly don't mind them, but Sven is a complete hack. Gerrard+Lampard cannot co-exist in the same midfield. And if England win the World Cup with Peter Crouch as one of their forwards, I'm cutting off one of my fingers and eating it. :p

IBRAHIMOSHIT is a freakin overrated moron. I dont know why people think he is some god gifted super hero. He has skills, but need quite a lot of time to develop his game. I remember him giving an Interview in the beginning of the season, where he said that he wanted to win the Golden Ball, Ballon'Odor(spelling), golden boot, golden shoe, Scudetto, CL and the WC all IN THIS SEASON!!!!!!!!. HAR HAR HAR What a moron.
And well didnt see Sweden's game, but well they should hang themselves. According to me Trinidad & Tobago is the weakest team in this WC, and even failed to break the 10men's team defence. Ibrahimoshit

yeah Zlatan is a overrated piece of shit. As I have expressed several times, and the most Juve fans agree with me on this matter.

Just imagine him and Adriano up front, what a deadly duo we would have, they will score an amazing 20 goals combined doing the season

Great result for England!!! But not such a great performance :depress: The team played well in the first half, but fell away in the second. Still the main thing is the 3 points and the team is sure to improve right?!

As for Trinidad they did brilliant yesterday. I was screaming at the tv during the match, the clock was going soooo slow. A lot of people thought Trinidad would lose like 3 or 4 nil, but they did great especially with only 10 men for the second half.

I hope things change with the return of Rooney but for now I think that we will see again performances like this by England.

I may be wrong but Eriksson thought firstly to give England a solid defensive game (protection of the keeper and occupation of the field) and then to ways to score. For this reason I think he chose to play Crouch. The Liverpool player can control the ball with his head on long passes and can hold the ball while his team-mates advance. He is not able to score every game but he is not a striker, is he? :D

It's working and if they are able to score first in all their matches I think England will have a good World Cup.

The world cup is results based, not how well you play. Czech Republic played the best football at euro 2004 but all people will remember is that Greece won. If England win the world cup with boring performances like yesterday of course it would not be good from an entertaining football perspective but who would turn down winning the world cup with 7 1-0 wins???

This thread has some very bitter people towards England, half of you will be jizzing yourself when Italy sneak a 1-0 win like England did, saying it shows how to control a game with good defensive play, as for the other half "commonwealth crusaders©" (yuko - cyprus, 1919 - india, roberto - canada, shahz - canada/pakistan, helal - australia, vic - australia) belittling the england football team despite having a grand total of 3 world cup appearences between them all including this world cup and not a goal scored yet :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Keir I saw that your favorite player is Javier Zanetti and that is enough to say that you are always right :)

Now jokes aside this thread perfectly reflects the difference between two kinds of fan: the one who wants only to win (80%) and the one that wants to win by playing good football (20%).

I prefer the latter way because I consider football an entertainment but I have no problems with who has another opinion or doesn't have the talent to play good football (it is not the case of England).

As for euro 2004 I do remember Portugal for his game and I almost forgot who won it. This doesn't mean that Greece did not deserve to win (they did) but I simply prefer the teams that try to entertain me.

Speaking of England I do not have a prejudice against them (I do not see why I should) and I was just saying that with one of the best midfields of the world I would like to see a little more creativity.

Eriksson chose another tactic and obviously I'm fine with that. I'll just forget who won the World Cup this year but I'm a fool so my opinion counts a lot less than 2 cents :D .

P.S. My critiques would be the same if we were talking about Italy, Inter or any other world team. I do not look at the player's jersey colors but at the way he plays.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Post of the tournament so far  Man, did few people get owned or what? :p

I could say the same about Germany and how some here hate it. Man, I would love Germany or England to win to see the reaction around here!

I find it uncanny that Hislop, the worst keeper ever in England, perform the game of his career against Sweden. Ten bucks he will suck against England.

Truely pathetic result.

I don't think peoples "hate" towards England have something to do with the way the play, since many on this forum like Italy, who is a master of playing poor and still make it. I think it has something to do with the English mentality, I for one haw gotten tired of hearing that old fairytale about them inventing football and that they have the best league and the best players and other bs. and when they finally lose which happens quite often then they are the biggest losers. so they come up with some kind of bad excuse like blaming the weather. they are just pathetic. and when they win they are even more annoying since they in their eyes have gotten confirmation of what they believed before they won it. Liverpool was a great example of that.

Someone asked about Aston Villa keeper, he's Sorensen and he's Danish;)

@ Keir, what the heck are you smoking man? At least I myself, have never dissed England or watsoever. When I say some things, I say it as I see them, I have no bias for anything. Just because England is not a powerful football nation since 1900 it doesn't mean people who see this are biased:dielaugh:

On the other hand, you should identify your weaknesses as a race, like Katiey has, and admit them. I for once admit that Cypriots are very good footballers at young age, but since only 1 out of 10 follows the sport professionally, most talents are wasted, and still, if they weren't, we'd only be a football country like Scotland, getting occasional World Cup qualifications etc. On the other hand, the English should be thrilled with a participation in the quarter-finals and not calling themselves Champions from day 1 in the tournament, after the "world-class":)lol:  ) players choked, and a player that most football fans see talent in, showed them that he's the best damn English player, Joe Cole...:lala: About the champions part, I bet you heard the English fans in the stadium chanting: Stand up for the Champions. 1966 is over. It's 40 years past. And England has only 3-4 players that could play almost anywhere and that's Rooney, Joe Cole, King(who is not called up:lol:  ) and Beckham... The rest simply follow, and don't talk about Gerrard and him playing off position... He's sometimes good, but most times average.

(No hard feelings, Keir):p

And Fuhrer:lol: , about getting owned, did anyone say that their countries are better than England? As far as I'm concerned, I'm ALWAYS a neutral, and see things in a neutral prospective. The whole world saw that England sucked yesterday, just because I'm supposed to "hate" England and I said that England sucked, does it mean that I did it on purpose?:ass: :) :) :)

And what's the talk about Zlatan? He was the best Swedish player with Ljungberg. Larsson made crucial mistakes, and missed a hell lot of chances to score. And Allback missed more than anyone in the World Cup and played less than any striker:lol:

The group is not over yet, we shall wait for Trinidad to stun the world once more by cutting England some points...

LOL Super-Keir!!

I have no reason to belittle England, quite franky I would rather England win it then Italy but if I had my way I would rather none win it.

I love the epl, one of the few to protect it and its teams from such bashers as Shahz and Ridicule. However I dislike the choosing of Walcott and I despise Crouch very very much. Anyway, thats my beef...

I dont belittle England but i am amazed that with that midfield they didnt achieve a goal against a poor looking Paraguay...I predicted a big win,and they started that way but then got deflated somehow..

Joe Cole was great but nobody else really stood out the whole game.
