We're 100% not gonna score in the first half.

this situation reminds me of sweden-italy: we all knew in italy that (despite all of its flaws) we were the better team, but we also had a feeling that with ventura there was an actual chance not to make it to the world cup.

we needed a win, it ended 0-0 instead. the only difference (in our favor) is that in this case the opponent might need to win, thus being forced to attack rather than just defend.

back then italy needed to change coach but figc president didn't have the balls to fire ventura.

now, what is the point of still having a coach who's going to get fired in a few days anyway?

spalletti doesn't seem to have any idea of what to do.

and while one can try and defend him by saying that he managed to achieve the goal last season, we shouldn't forget that we also needed a harakiri by lazio, which for some miracle didn't manage to beat mighty crotone.

No need to worry. Spal will win, Parma will grab a point and Atalanta will not have a shot on target vs Sassuolo and Berardi will score a 90th minute PK. Spalletti will get the 3rd place after a 1-1 draw with Empoli and say that we improved from last season.

Does anyone know if we're linked to signing any empoli players?

Could really do with a favour (a la De Vrij) for this one.

I am pretty sure they will not change the kickoff times for the last round of the season.

not only is it possible, it's quite likely and it will probably be decided tomorrow (or on wednesday at the latest), because there is still lazio - bologna tonight so it's necessary to wait for this match to figure out if bologna can still be relegated.

the matches will be probably divided in three groups: 1. matches decisive for europa league/champions league qualification, same kick-off time; 2. matches for the relegation battle; 3. all the other matches.

the goal is to maximize the ad revenues for both sky and dazn.

all of this, as usual, with no regards for those who will travel to watch a match at the stadium and might have already bought a return ticket.

We have occasionally been linked with their right wingback, Di Lorenzo, and their midfielders Bennacer and Krunic.

God, if we lose our CL spot to Milan I'll haul myself off a bridge.

I trust SPAL more than I trust our bottlers.

What a sad case having to desperately win against Empoli on the last match day at a time we don't even have the confidence to say we'll beat them easily.

Look back now, see how losing to Bologna and Parma at home was an absolute abomination & train wreck ?!

We had many pathetic results during the season. The collapse in the second half against Torino. Getting only two points out of possible 12 against Torino and Sassuolo. Failing to beat mighty Chievo away. Playing for the draw against fucking Udinese though i don't know if you consider it one point gained or two points lost.

This game will be won by the team which shows more hunger and desire. And Empoli look very, very hungry for a win. It will take a very determined performance with everyone running hard to win this.

At this point, there is a better chance of Inter qualifying via a screw up by Milan rather than an Inter win.

Empoli turn Serie A inside out
An astonishing 4-1 victory allowed Empoli to clamber out of the bottom three and badly damage Torino’s hopes of European football.

Andreazzoli: 'Bring on Inter!'
Empoli moved out of the drop zone by beating Torino 4-1 today and Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli assures “next we’ll do the same to Inter.”

“We’re just sorry that we only have one more game left. We want to continue playing now that we are in this good run. The team is full of desire now.

“We are doing well from a physical point of view, and we believed all week that the result was never in doubt. We could have scored even more today, as Salvatore Sirigu was their best player.

“I’m very satisfied, we played the way we had worked on during the week, we got a lot of crosses into the box. We eased off at the start of the second half, allowing them to equalise, and that could have been a heavy blow, but we recovered well.

“We faced a team with 60 points, who have a lot of good players, but we swept them aside, and now we will go to San Siro next week and do the same to Inter.”

I wonder how optimistic & confident Luciano is... :yao2:

Speaking of Andreazzoli, he had been Spalletti's assistant at Roma for years so they know each other well.

Edit: Andreazzoli had been Spalletti's assistant in Italy since Spal's time at Udinese so it's basically the teacher against the student.

Who is the teacher and who the student? :yao:
