Are we sure this Genoa side is made up of professional footballers? This is a bad, bad team. They'll need a miracle to avoid relegation.

Hard to believe that they held Napoli at the San Paolo and made life difficult for Juventus in Turin.

This Genoa team are awful. Won’t surprise me one bit if they go down.

They are less terrible than what they've shown. Thiago Motta came in very late (2 months ago or so) and wanted to change their philosophy overnight. He cannot pull it off, especially with this roster. They should have signed a realist first to keep them in Serie A and experiment with Motta from the beginning of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to stay up with a change of coach and a couple of additions.

Great, solid performance from the lads regardless of the fact that Genoa is a complete garbage. Great way to end the year. Forza inter and happy holidays.

Wasn't expecting anything less than a thumping. Good win lads.

Heart-warming to see Lukaku give Esposito the penalty responsibility. The kid was brilliant and deserved a goal.

Satisfying end to the first bit of the season. Hopefully we get the reinforcements we need and keep rolling.

Kudos to the thread opener. While everybody was in agony over the draw to Fiorentina this man resembling a holy entity came and had the courage to create this very thread. I bet he is so handsome and hung like a horse.

Oh wait a second, that was me. Whoever is in charge here should give me my Best Football Poster badge or I’ll visit your grandma and tell her to shut the fuck up.

A men's league team might have been able to beat Genoa today. We needed to smash and we did, but it felt like Genoa were playing in the wrong direction. Pinamonti was like a sweeper that we were passing around, while their CBs were making late, loopy runs into their own area. I couldnt tell any of their players apart until the camera was zoomed in. Could have sworn I saw Lozano and giaccherini but was most fascinated by how criscito has aged in 10 years since he was hot shit. Shame to see Genoa fall this way.

Everyone saying that this Genoa could be beaten by any given tram, even some dare to say that even amateurs could beat them... I mean...lol, like really? When you post retarded shit like that, do you ever stop and think that actually other living human beings will read that too, hm?

No, seriously, do you actually stop, take a second to reflect...? That this is not some bizzare thought in your own mind only, that other living and breathing creatures will read that?

So, if you took your dad, uncle, few cousins and couple of friends, you could actually beat this team in 11 v 11? Is this what you are actually saying? Seriously, think about it

. Think about your 50+ year old dad, and uncle, and your cousin who you believe is in amazing athletic shape, and those friends that you envy of their football skills

. Think about them, now think about all of you together playing against professionals and in live or die match winning them, completing passes, playing games that take years to practice, that require not only physical but mental strength...

And if you still believe that you can win them... Then I am honest to God surprised how you are still alive with all that stupidity inside your brain.

Good performance to wrap up a second half of 2019 during which Inter have shown undeniable signs of improvement, despite all the setbacks and teething problems we went through. Today's Genoa were hands down the worst team we've played so far, but considering our current circumstances, winning so comfortably wasn't a given. Anyway, now it's time for Conte and the boys to recharge the batteries and prepare themselves for the battles still awaiting for us. Hopefully, we'll face them with a full and bolstered roster. Marotta & Co better have their plan of action ready.

I'm not 100% positive Gagliardini was our best player today, but he definitely had a good game, being both defensively sound and, most importantly, managing to link the midfield and the attack with his constant forward runs, which is something we sorely lacked lately. In this respect, Sensi's sudden comeback was probably the best news of the evening. He looked rusty as fuck, but still... I believe Valero deserves some credit because despite looking completely out of the picture at the beginning of the season he has proved himself a true professional and played competently when given the chance. Respect. Even Vecino has looked a bit more involved than usual in the last couple of games. Still not enough, though.

Another key to our win was the performance of the WBs, who stretched Genoa's horrible defence and gave constant support to our attack. Candreva gave two assists on top of several other good plays, while Biraghi was finally bolder in offensive forays. Lazaro and Dimarco entered the pitch when Genoa players had already mentally boarded the train back home, so it's impossible to rate their performances. The Austrian almost gave a goal away due to lack of concentration, though. Which is rather disappointing from a player who should be totally focussed on proving himself to the coach.

The defence had it quite easy today. Genoa were pathetic and could barely get the ball in our court after the first 20 minutes. However, I really liked Bastoni's performance. Very commanding and mature display from the lad. Skriniar and de Vrij merely controlled their respective portions of field, while Handanovic was more than adequate whenever (not often, admittedly) Genoa called him into action.

Lukaku led from the front. He scored a brace, provided an assist, cleared a ball off the line, and gifted the first professional goal to Esposito (great gesture). He also made mistakes, of course, but he (and we with him) needed to finish the year on a positive note after the recent disappointments. That being said, it would be important to sign a player who could serve as his backup, so that we don't run him into the ground in the second half of the season as we've been doing so far. As for Esposito, I'm glad he scored his first goal, but mostly that he showed the personality (and skills) required to be part of this team. Now he just has to stay humble and work even harder.

Lastly, a few words about our guys at Genoa. I've always liked Thiago Motta as a player and wish him the best for his coaching career. But at the moment he seems to me like one of those hipster coaches whose tactics are bold, revolutionary, ground-breaking even, but only on paper. I think he needs to get real and stick to the basics, at least for now, because I fear he won't last long if he persists in trying to build from the back with the shitters he has at Genoa. As for Pinamonti, his season so far has been pretty underwhelming. I watched him play on several occasions, and he almost always failed to impress me. Also, he usually play a bit like a wuss, so I was surprised to see him elbow de Vrij. I get he wanted to prove himself to Inter, but cool down kid. Radu's season hasn't been brilliant either, but he can pull off a good save from time to time. Neither are ready for Inter, though. Not in the foreseeable future, at least.

We certainly took casualties. A minute of silence for everyone that isn't around (mentally) anymore...
