Not really. But you can sub Arsenal for Atletico or Dortmund.Arsenal?
Dortmund is terrible. C'mon. Not really. But you can sub Arsenal for Atletico or Dortmund.
CL brings money. Money brings security and better players. It requires sun, star, moon and planets align for us to win Scudetto and CL, I honestly don’t care if we are kicked out in this round in CL or are kicked out in the semifinal only winning trophy counts. We simply don’t have the depth to win CL unless we can secure the scudetto mathematically early. It’s incredibly difficult to win with the bench that we have.

Well, Sociedad is the first one. They finished first on our group. Way to go my friend, lets beat Atletico first, to claim something like that.Name three better teams in the CL this year then. Tell me my lie.

Tbh there's nor much rotation lol all the starters not playing are injured or suspended.Line-up looks solid despite of rotation, let's do this
We had the easiest route to a CL final seen in years. In fact I can hardly remember an easier route the past 10 years. That sort of luck is something that happens so rarely for any given team, on top we were already out of the champions race so we could focus more on CL so we could afford loosing points in the league as there where no championship on the line we just had to scrape enough points together to stay in top 4. This isn’t something we can do now, as winning the scudetto is multitude more important than getting any further in the turnment. We had to go on a run late last season domestically just to finish in the top-4, it was looking very unlikely until that end of season run got us into 3rd place. We did that while making our CL run, admittedly not against the toughest of opposition but we still had to win over 180 minutes three times to get to the final and that meant putting our best foot forward there three times.
I'm not saying it's likely, there is no team in the CL right now with a >50% chance of winning the competition. But other than PSG, there isn't a team in the competition right now that is in a position where they can begin to turn more attention towards the CL
because they've wrapped up their league either. Real Madrid is only +7 right now (+8 on Barcelona with a H2H remaining), that's still a fight. Both City and Arsenal have a tough fight on their hands for the Premier League along with Liverpool of course. Bayern might actually be "out of it" in the Bundesliga for the first time in over a decade but the expectation to fight to the end is still going to be there no matter the odds, they won't be allowed to give up. And even other clubs that aren't in the running for their league like Dortmund and Napoli are still going to be fighting for trying to finish in CL spots for next year's edition (odds are against Napoli but they did finally just win consecutive games for the first time since September and they still have a squad capable of much more than what they've shown). The point being, every other club that you might think of as a challenger still has more of a two-front battle to fight than we do. Of course we can't just say "fuck it" to Serie A yet, lose a few games and that margin becomes far less comfortable, but we're in the best position of anyone to be able to put more and more eggs in the CL basket and, from there, I stand behind what I've already said that we have just about as good a chance of any team head-to-head of going for it all. We already saw it against Manchester City last year, a narrow defeat where, by all accounts, we more than held our own and the bounces just didn't go our way. Can't change what happened last year, but we have reason to believe we can play against them should we meet again.
Obviously none of the rest matters unless we get past Atleti next week, which isn't guaranteed. But while "we simply don't have the depth" is true to some degree, we overcame it last year and I have no reason to think we can't overcome it this year, short of getting ravaged by injuries which would derail any team. At this point, I'm choosing to believe, which is dangerous territory for me because I tend to skew glass-half-empty (you can see my vote in the "who wins the Scudetto" thread from a month ago, and it wasn't Inter that I chose). I'm convinced with this team, I'm convinced with this manager. As long as the Zhang's don't screw us again this summer, this squad is capable of amazing things.
