Too much criticism? What is the right amount of criticism? What do you disagree with exactly?

Well for starters even Guarin did well this game, but at the end of the game he started to slack a bit and even thought the second goal come from his shot and he did play overall, but still we criticize him for shooting the ball instead passing it.

Its just it really doesnt matter what kind of game we play even if we win " a decent win like today " there is still critics that shouldnt be, that is my opinion

unimpressive.

To be honest to much criticism IMO even when we won the game and we did well this game, the last 2 games we have shown great determination, if we didnt get a red card from last game right now we would have 20 points.

How sure are you that had handanovic not sent off we wouldn't lose against Torino? We were already poor when Handanovic was still on pitch hence the red card although it was wrong to give the red card but we were clumsy.

I Really do believe that this year we will manage to do much better then the last 2 years and with decent reinforcment at Winter transfer, we will make it to CL

Nobody even Thohir himself can guarantee there will be any reinforcements during winter and even if we had some reinforcements, they would straight gel with the team and improve our game. They could even go wrong to the other side like Rocchi.

How so ? More information please

Iturbe has some skills and potential but he was very selfish specialy towards the end when he tried finishing on his own from far out(thank god Carrizo wasn't butter hands)...he has the potential to be great but needs to play more for the team than himself

Jorginho was practically invisible out wide(on the flanks) tbh...always played it safe

jorginho was so invisible that i didn't even know he was playing.

iturbe is nowhere near the talent he is hype for. he is completely average, has some basic skills but that's it. he is to me like a jonathan level of alvarez.

Fun match!

We miss so much in defense when not having Campagnaro. Maybe Samuel instead of Rolando could help a bit, even if Rolando is not bad at all. Still I'm concerned if we can get our defense together only when we play the three starters.

If in defense he was below average, I liked Juan going forward. Naga and Jonathan did well, as did Alvarez. Guarin is improving but he needs to stop taking so many long range shots.

I'm happy.

Glad we won, but im unimpressed at how we let them back into the game so many times. We need to be a lot better at closing out games. Ill be honest, I think Toni's goal should have been allowed. If we were on the receiving end of that call we would be bitching endlessly. We looked nervy enough at the end, if that goal had stood I would not have been surprised if Verona pulled a Torino and equalized at the very end.

How did the Verona wonder kid Jorginho go against us ?

I re watched the match to look at Jorginho, keeping in mind the question why he remained so invisible throughout the match

Romulo and Donati seemed to be the main sources of defensive protection in the midfield, as btb and destroyer respectively, with Jorginho being placed in a more creative role

However he barely saw the ball, mainly due to Mandorlini's employment of a zonal defending style. His positioning relative to his teammates was quite strong, as well as his off the ball movement, but his lack of physicality glared on the rare occasion he received possession, being immediately muscled off the ball

It should be said that our players generally avoided his vicinity throughout the entire match, given his aptitude for starting counterattacks, and it should be noted that he applied a lot of pressure to our midfield

On Iturbe, he's being overhyped for sure. The kid has undeniable talent, but lacks any intelligence or physicality to accompany that; this was a recurring theme in discussions on this forum during the circulation of rumours linking him to Inter.

But I wouldn't judge Jorginho off of a single match, considering he has been very strong so far in the Serie A season, and has been one of Serie B's best players for two seasons running

A good / important player will get himself involved and not remain invisible for such a prolonged period of time.

Regardless of the teams (or opposition teams) tactics.

I wouldn't judge his ability off of this single match though

And the tactics have a very large role to play in a players defensive contribution

Zonal defending prevents him from tracking back too far, not to mention he was placed in a very creative role, and his positioning relative to his teammates was VERY strong

- - - Updated - - -

And Iturbe dropped quite deep into the heart of Verona's midfield, linking up with Martinho on the wings, not with the central midfield

What could he (Jorginho) do if Mandorlini's tactics didn't allow him to track back, and the other two players in the midfield trio who were tasked with defensive responsibilities played like shit?

- - - Updated - - -

And you can't forget that he's very new to Serie A, especially physically speaking

I also wouldn't say he had a POOR match tbh
