I find it hard to explain but Motta could play in tight places and find spaces to brake defences. His passing was in the next level. Like someone said here long ago that he had learn that in his Barca years. Also his calmness.

But his goal against Milan is similar situation.

Motta was the reason we haven't made the CL in 2 years.

With Ranieri we were actually on an amazing winning streak, he left for PSG, and everything fell completely apart. And until Kovacic came exactly 1 year later, our midfield was complete trash, due to absence of a deep lying playmaker, or anyone that could pass for that matter.
