That why I asked azzkir if he just started following the team. He really seems to be a glory hunter. We must wait until the second leg!

The following was posted on a Liverpool forum ( http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=211979.800 ), I've decided to post it here b/c I thought it one of the best posts there:

"A convincing display albeit playing against 10 men as 'Mad' Marco was twice beaten by the pace of 'El Nino'. To be honest I thought both cautions were a little harsh and I doubt any English referee would have given one yellow let alone two. We may however argue that justice was done as we were not awarded a penalty after Viera had clearly handled in the area as Stevie G tried to lob the ball above him.

I missed the first 30 mins of the game and when I turned on the TV, replays of Materazzi's second caution were being shown. From then on, we were rampant. Many have argued with good reason that statistics do not tell the whole story but in the case of this morning's game, they surely did. These are the standout statistics from the game:

Possession : Liverpool 70% - Inter Milan 30%

Shots (on goal) : Liverpool 25(6) - Inter Milan 4(0)

What do they tell you? Pepe didn't have a single save to make the entire game.

We had an awesome share of the ball but critics will argue it's because Inter Milan were playing with 10 men. The same critics must never have seen Arsenal play. In some instances, teams playing with a man down are even harder to play as they become more compact and often play with all 10 men in their own half, as did Inter Milan this morning. Fortunately for us though, they did not have the pace to threaten us on the counter, unlike a team such as Arsenal.Edit: Yes, that is because our fastest guy (possibly the fastest pure speed forward in Europe) WAS ON THE BENCH!!!! We took comfort in this, pushing both Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher further up the park, into the opposition half. How many times have we seen Sami wander up the park to unleash a shot? Exactly. We played with a lot of width this morning and were spraying passes across the park, creating openings for Stevie to burst through the middle of a stretched defence. I'm scratching my head now wondering just how we can't do the same against mid table Premier League sides. I mean this was Inter Milan! This was a team that until this morning not lost in 30 games!"

Infuriating! and I had to get it out, yet again. anyways....

Forza Inter, regroup, play to win in the second leg, I think we will!!

Hey all,

I don't usually post but i visit these forums regularly, i dunno why i decided its time to post but after yesterdays game i think i wanna vent to fellow interista's....

I was sure yesterday that this is our year, this is the year we can look every1 in the eye and say what are you gonna say bout our club now cuz it's always something and it's never easy supporting this club even when ur dominating seria a ur still belittled and mocked and made to feel like clowns when deep down you see this club and its players as simply great and honestly by the opinon's of a few member's on these forums's i dunoo how they call them selves fans...

Back to the game, yesterday after that shambolic performance i had this gut wrenching feeling of shame the same feeling all of us are accoustmed to pre-calciopoli, when this draw was made all i read on these forums was it was time to prove to europe exactly who inter is and we will finally get the recogniztion this club deserves and that mirrored my exact feelings, i started watching liverpool more and more and every week i watch them i ask myself 'how in hell are these mediocre players gonna pose a problem for inter?' On every occassion i watched them i was more and more convinced that this team won't and can't pose a threat and plz don't give me the CL/EPL story where this team is different n CL nights, FFS its football 11v11 with a round leather ball...

We were totally owned yesterday by what i thought is a mediocre team but i watch this inter side week in and week out and i know the quality we poses within this team, we are missing a few aspects such as speed and creativty but its made up in other ways it worked so well and it shud've been enuff to see us thru to the next round atleast, our boys shud have never come out 2nd best to liverpool but we did and most ppl have their own conclusions be it mancini doesn't have enuff balls playing in europe or matrix's sending off (which was harsh but he must sholder some blame, he was clumsy and stupid even though it wasn't a sending off) but those excuses don't explain why an inter side taking seria a by storm can't string three decent passes or 1 dangerous counter attack even with 10 men, we lost 2-0 and i accept that but what i don't accept is the manner in which we lost, we defended for 60 mins with 10 men bravely but that was it! and to call ur self a top team u shud be able to do more than just defend even with 10 men heck thats wat the smaller sides in italy do, not a so called giant...

With that said our boys have a chance to redeem themselves, on the return leg i honestly think its impossible after seeing the way we played yesterday and how our players looked nothing more than normal when they had possesion and were being pressed for the entire game but we all think of inter as a top side and when top sides have their backs up against the wall and their pride hurting they respond, take milan for example in last years CL they lost to United 3-2 which was a very respectable score but at san siro they tore United apart no excuses and they reaped the rewards and i just hope our boys have it in them to restore their dignity and ours....

Since the transformation of European Cup in Champions league, no team has ever come back from a 2-0 away loss, to win at home in the second leg. (though PSV came really close one time)
A bit of statistics thats probably not gonna cheer us up.

Also last time Liverpool lost, after having a 2 goal advantage in the first leg, was back in 1965, and yes it was actually the last time we met them.
How I would love for the history to repeat itself.

We should take hope from Deportivo,, they way the ripped Milan apart from after being down 4-1 in the first leg.

I am being pessimistic so that when we loose at Sansiro, it wont hurt that much.

After being down 2-0 against Milan in the first leg in 2005, I was full of hope that we would turn the tie around. We were going to have Adriano back for FFS, Vieri was fit again. We were gonna unleash Martins pace on Milan, show them that we may be down, but we are not out. But alas, not only our team, but our fans managed to embarrass us that day.

Its 2006, Villareal are rejoicing at the fact, that they have an away goal at Sansiro. Not to worry, we dominated the game, and were terribly unlucky with to concede an away goal in the first minute of play. Bravo to Wome for that. But hell, we are inter, they are Villareal, surely we wont loose at the Madrigal. But Mancini decided to play catenaccio in Madrigal, Veron decided to watch the hot small town Spanish chicks in the stands, Adriano began his journey in to transforming the completely useless footballer he is now, and what do you know, we crash out of Europe, and arent even beaten by a big team.

Welcome to Feb 2007, Inter have changed their history, they are the unbeatable leaders in SERIEA, Mancini is confident we can beat Valencia at Mestalla, after we were terribly unlucky at Sansiro, and didnt deserve to loose. We have Ibrahimovic now, FFS, and he would show those Valencians bas*tards, how to play. By that time, I had very little faith that we would go through. Still I wore my Inter jersey and went to the pub, to watch one of the most boring games that I have ever witnessed. It was Valencia playing catenaccio, and playing it, at its best. Maybe Mancini should have learned from Sanchez Flores how to play catenaccio, we didnt really create anything, and bye bye we are out of it again.

How can some one tell me to be optimistic about this game now. I dont want us to win the CL, I just want us to perform better in it. We have beaten a big team in the knock out rounds since 2003.

I will still wear my Inter shirt, and go to a pub on March 11, but I am not expecting much. I am just preparing myself for the inevitable defeat.

The only real advantage we have as compared to last two years, is that we are playing at home. Some are saying, we have more chance as Mancini nad the team know that we have to win. Well, they also knew it last year.

I am 99% sure, we will end up with a 0-0 draw, but still you can always hope....

Exactly why we will win. Not because we are a good club, not because Pool don't deserve it, not because we want to win the CL, not because of our fans support, not because of home advantage...but now it has boiled down to pride. Our pride was never questioned at Villareal or Valencia. It is now. We may have lost a lot over the years, but never such a humiliating defeat. I see our players fighting for their lives out there on 11th.
But if that is not sufficient for us to go through, then we need a change somewhere.

****ing idiots him and azzkikr. belong together.

they scored 2 goals in 5 minutes. We have over 90 to do it. Situations may be different but ive seen it many a time.

Giving up hope and not supporting the team is just a cowards way out.

not true fans at all.

I agree with H here. It's going to be very difficult but with the Curva Nord boys pushing the players for ward and also taking into account that just a few days before the game we celebrate 100 years we can do it.

The problem will be that the fat Spaniard can park the bus in front of the penalty area.

We have to at least go out fighting.

We can get it at least to extra time.

Nothing's impossible and even though I know that it's gonna be too hard for us, I am very much hopeful that there's a very good chance to over turn the result. But for that to happen, I don't want Mancini to play with stupid tactics, just put a good offensive line up, which I have on my mind and I think should be on Mancini's as well, as we are also limited to very few options due to injuries and suspensions.

There's like 3 weeks left for this game and it's too soon to talk about the line-ups BUT if these players are god willingly match fit, I think we might see a starting line up like this:

---------------- J.Cesar ---------------
Maicon -- Burd/Riva -- Chivu -- J.Zanetti
----- Vieira ---- Cambiasso -- Stanko ---
----------------- L.Figo ----------------
---------- Zlatan ------ Cruz/Crespo ----

Why ain't Maxwell there ?? He deserves to be there but J.Zanetti can't be benched at all and Stankovic would be important for this game due to many reasons and also coz Mancini will definitely play him. And I do think that an in form Figo will be very decisive for this game, as we totally lacked creativity in midfield in Anfield, as apart from J.Zanetti, we were clueless.

Lets also hope that Jimenez would be back for the return leg, as he would be a back up for the play making position. R.Mancini, please don't shock us with yet another tactical swtich.;)

Suazo's pace would had been good but I fear he might need more chances to score goals than Cruz/Crespo and we will just have 90 more minutes; thus it's better to bring him as a sub if needed later on.

I don't blame Zlatan, as it was too hard for our strikers to play upfront. Funny to see an article on "Zlatan big game flop" in goal.com.

We should now be very careful in rotating the players in Serie now and also let our SWAT midfield gel and to be in perfect condition for the return leg. All I want is a die hard performance from our team. If we get past Liverpool, I would be very happy and excited and if we still fail to qualify, then I would still be proud BUT I hope they won't dissappoint us this time.
:star:

Materazzi's two yellow cards were obviously harsh BUT he could have avoided those fouls as well. Anywaz, it's already a past now. I really do hope that R.Mancini won't put a weird line up coz there's a good chance that, it might not work. Just play with the 4-3-1-2 with the in form players.

Just make us proud by trying to over turn the result !!!!!:boxing:

Btw, the second goal is good and bad for us. Bad for obvious reasons, coz we will fail to qualify even if we beat them 3-1. But good coz R.Mancini has no other choice but to attack them from the very first minute, which everyone including Liverpool hope so and that's a must !!

I hope history repeats here again, after it had been repeated when we won our first Coppa Italia Cup in R.Mancini's era. lol.

Without Cordoba in defense, it's likely we will concede a goal and if Liverpool scores just one goal, theres no chance of us going through.

I just hope Burdisso can play a solid game!

Only Figo can save us.

If we don't score a goal in the first half, we're out and I think tbh Crespo should play, he know's all about such situations ;) .

Given the romantic state of affairs between Mancini and Crespo right now it looks highly unlikely.

without Cordoba and Samuel we have no defense !!!

Matrix sucks !!! and is a red card I have been saying it forever, lot of u love him cause hie is the only italian on the team, facts are facts this guy is unprofessional and goes to injure players and thats not how someone should play

Chivu is playing DM or RB, and at CB he hasnt done well for us

Rivas... did well against Juventus but he is a Copa Italia player/reserve... and is just a faster Matrix but dumber. Love to see
this guy do well but I see him getting a red for stupid fouls on Torres.. tho prob the only one fast enough to catch torres

Burdisso was awesome last year but this year isnt doing anything and seen a few reds, hope he gets his shit togehter, we need him to step up

I hope that we suprise but a 2-0 is a bad result especially against a team like Liverpool, think as soon as we lost Matrix, we should have just gone to defend the whole game, it wasnt like we were attacking any way

also dont like the Zanetti comment, I know he is the captian but IF there are better players in a postion then they should play, we cant be like AC Milan and keep him and Cordoba here till their 40, when Cordoba speed ends he needs to retire(hopefully as a scout or something for inter), same with Zanetti

Il Capitano has been the Legend for the Club and has been consistently amongst the Top 3 Best players for the Club for past so many years.
He has acquired Legendary status and the Club will trust him regarding retirement or whatever.
To doubt his competency is just blasphelmous.

Hey guys. I've been planning to go for this match and I already bought airlines tickets 1 month ago. Today I went on math lesson at 9:00, came back at 12.00 and according to inter.it, all tickets are sold. I can't really reserve any on site becouse it's full of errors, and even when I'm able to reserve, it says that there is no more spots.

It really makes me sad, I already paid for airline and train tickets. I don't know what should I do? can you guys tell me? do you have any ideas or tips for me? Help would be really appreciated.

Since you already have a ticket to milano and I presume you are going anyway.

You can try and buy a ticket from the touts outside the stadium before the game. It will be expensive and just make sure you get a real ticket and not a fake one.

Other ideas is phone the hotel were you are staying and ask them if they can organise a ticket. They usually know who to ask.;)
