Wes would be also my choice in a few years, only if he gets his temper under control. Apart from that people should really stop over-hyping our young players.

 NAssasin.

You were given infractions because you repeatedly went off-topic and basically didnt really bother with our warnings. We tried to give you casual, informal warnings, but it didnt seem to work. I also feel that the infractions arent working as you are now on your way to derail this thread. So please stay on topic and I hope it is now clear about why you received warnings and later, infractions.

Froggy is captaincy material, however, J.Z. will play for 2 seasons and I dont think that is enough time for Froggy to be the leader of this team. Maybe Eto and Wes will be ahead of him then..

Well i was also told i my second infraction was for insulting hydez after he insulted me for no reason because i brought up facts and statistics, in my response i insulted him back and provided more facts.

I got a letter from Stefan saying hydez would be hit with an infraction for insulting me and i the lesser for responding, idk if i just can't see anyone elses infractions or what, but it sounds like some BS to me.

I've been said to be derailing threads but ppl have responded to my comments and argued with me and we continued to go back and forth, considering im new here shouldn't they be held responsible for knowing when and where to move our conversation. Shouldnt they be hit with infractions for going off topic bringing up facts to support their arguments.

I havn't yet gone off topic because ive been defending santon as my canidate for captain, also i mentioned ranocchia as the only other viable option. And when i was told to move to another thread i did like when i moved my conversation with vasillos to Inters financial thread.

SE SALTELLI....
you derail every thread, so i dont see how u can complain...and yes, you cannot see other ppls infractions so its not BS, even though you think it might be. and you might be 'new' here but you have recieved multiple pms from many members on what you should/should not be doing, so dont play innoccent.

personally to me its to early to dish out verdicts on our youngsters as of yet. they hardly get playing time as it is, and really should be the last thing on their minds at the moment. if we really look at at, naga has been the only youngster who has made a positive impact. i would love to see him 5 years down the road with the captains armband on.

this is all pipe dreams and we have many years to go through, but it would be nice.

If you stop by Zanetti(2013), Cambiasso, Stankovic and Cesar will grow and will probably have lost their place in the starting 11, they might have gone, the leader should be a basic, thus became the leader of Vidic United, as Giggs and Scholes were not sure position in the starting 11, and Ferdinand was often injured.

Ok on the not being able to see other ppls infractions, but the derail seems like its a bit BS as im new and i was engaged in arguments that tied back to the thread, and when told to move and where or given a link i have moved.

As far as young talent goes, Mourinho had an eye for talent and fielded Santon, Lippi praised Santon for his characteristics & potential to be a future legend, Santon has only just recently become Captain of the Italia U21 so he must be improving. Defense for the most part comes with age and exp, not to mention there has never been so many offensive talents or foriegn talents allowed to play on teams unlike the past.

PPL argue he didnt play much last year but he got injured and just because your available to play doesn't mean you are 100%. Last year was when we acquired Lucio and formed the best defense in soccer. It would be foolish to put a Teenager in that defense if it isnt nessecary, we had planned to develop him more this year but we got hit with major injury and if that wasn't enough Julio ceasar got hurt on top of it. We couldnt risk losing by trying to develop Santon so we loaned him away.

Santon is a defensive prodigy who only lacks experience, he is raw potential but needs more playing time to adapt and im sure however much he has grown that can hardly be seen on a near relegation team will be noticed once he returns and trains with Inter all summer.

I think should Santon significantly improve and make his way into the team or even become a steady sub for Zanetti he can still earn the Armband and lead Inter into a new Era, an Era which we will once again be looking to our Youth & Academies with FFP taking effect.

I know that every legend made mistakes in their youth and even still they sometimes have bad games.

He's probably gonna play until 2097. We'd probably be dead by then.

Jokes aside, there's no point to debate about this. In Italy, the Captain is ALWAYS the player who's been with the squad the longest. Regardless whether he is a first teamer or not. Just take a look at Milan with Ambrosini or Juve with Del Piero.

It's gonna be hard to predict whos still gonna be here when JZ retires. Cambiasso or Stankovic would be in the very last leg of their careers and could be moving on to their homeland or something. Santon is such an enigma we won't know where he ends up next year, let alone 2-3 years from now.

My bet is gonna be on Julio Cesar. A name so surprisingly ignored in this thread. GKs usually have the longest lifetime and I do feel that JC is very much settled here.

That's usually the case but inter it hasn't always been the case. After bergomi, ronaldo was named captain and he wans't the longest serving and then jz got the captaincy and he was also not the longest serving. So it really depends.

I hope we get the best candidate for the job. I prefer going with a younger candidate that will be around for a long time.

IMO JC wouldn't be a good captain. Captain should be a field player so that he can talk with the ref (i.e. when ref wants to talk only to captains, it would be hard for JC to come over to ref from his goal).

It's not hard for Casillas. And that was a weird reason. It's not only the captain who talks to the referee, there are other "reasonable" players as well. If he wants to talk to the captain, he can go to the goal and talk to JC, if he becomes a captain.

Well, since we have no obvious candidate it's probably going to be the longest serving. Time will show what happens to Ranocchia - at the moment he doesn't have any other things that would make him a preferred captain choice other than the fact that he is Italian and he is young, he doesn't inspire (with words or peformances), he is lacking in communication judging by the amount problems we have in defence, he struggles to help his teammates. Santon would need to become Inter quality again first of all... and he's got same problems as Ranocchia elsewhere too.

It'll be Cuchu and once he retires, if either of them is still in the squad, it's given to Wes or Eto'o.

Anyway, I don't consider it to be much of an issue. It's just an armband. The future leader of this team might and probably isn't even in our team at the moment. We have many leaders in the team at the moment - Lucio, Samuel, JC, Cambiasso, Eto'o and maybe even more. They'll have to be replaced one day and probably some replacements will have strong characters to be a captain of a team. And he should be given/he will take over the captain duties (whether with the armband or not) - regardless of the fact if he has been here for a year, half a year or 5 years. At the moment, I don't see any future captain in the first team squad other than those that are a bit older already.

If in 2 years Cambiasso is still a starter he'll be the captain. If not then Eto'o and then Sneijder.

Zanetti should never quit, if he is too old he should still be signed but just never be used, keep him as a sub on the bench 'till he's 50 and after that on the tribune like Leo does with Cou way too often, give him a contract for 20k/year or something and let him do that so he can still motivate the team and stuff but just never let him play, he will still be an official player when he's 80! Brilliant idea not? :D

I suppose the real question this thread poses is: Who is still going to be here and on the first team in 3-4 years?
