This deal is terrible.

We didn't need another CF, especially at this ridiculous price; also considering the formation, a secondary striker (Palacio, Cassano) or an attacking midfielder behind the striker (Alvarez), like in Fiorentina's formation, are the options, not a CF!

And we have Cassano in that exact position who is miles above this player.

For god's sakes, Norwich City got Van Wolswinkel from Sporting for 8 million, and we manage to nab Belfodil for this outrageous cost?

This rant is targeting something far beyond this transfer but above all of them, Marco Branca and Massimo Moratti.

When will these terrible deals stop coming in? When will we have a truly productive transfer market (not counting 09/10)?

And screw the attack for now, it's been reinforced with Icardi already (just get someone on the cheap).

We need to revamp the midfield. That 10 million should've gone towards a new DM or a wingback.

He's not a bad player. He's a decent striker, who can finish, head, dribble and pass. He is a good buy. But not in these circumstances. If he comes, Milito should go.

Longo, Icardi, Belfodil and Palacio are more then enough.

And fuck those who say we need a striker who can make an impact when subbed in [Gilardino/Milito/Rocchi].

I think Icardi - Belfodil can work just fine. Belfodil has the ability to drop off and hold possession while bringing the wingbacks or AM into the attack. At this point he can also make a late run into the box and still use his heading ability. The great part about pairing him with Icardi is we have 2 players capable of utilizing crosses. Icardi can stay high and occupy the centerbacks. They'll take pressure off each other in that way. My only doubt is who's going to be able to bench Palacio. If his form from last season continues he should be a starter.

As for Belfodil personally as a player he seems to tick just about every box. Skill, size, decent speed there aren't many weak points. I remember seeing him in one of his first appearances for Parma, and after about 30 minutes I was googling to find out where he came from as he was very impressive. Speaking of where he came from, anybody know why Lyon let him go? And so cheap?

One thing to watch out for with him is attitude issues. He already had a few problems last year at Parma that resulted in him getting benched towards the end of the season.
