it seems clear to me that spalletti is the kind of coach who only wants player who are capable of passing. i mean, he even called into question handanovic because of this.
skriniar seems to be this kind of defender, is it also the case for murillo?

I read that spalletti has tried or will try Murillo as a rb in back 4 so we can transition to a back 3 fluidly midgame. Something like rudiger at roma

Most Diverse PosterThat is exactly what I was thinking. We already got two CBs, Skriniar and apparently also Issa Diop from Toulouse, so trying Murillo for a RB is not a bad idea.

10 years of FIFMost Diverse PosterProbably as our fourth CB, since Medel and Ranocchia are still here, for now. We have already let go of my broski wovski Andreolli and Diop will quite probably be another Juan/Murillo type of CB we are buying, young and promising, he's probably gonna play just Cups and games we have already won (for the 2017/18 season).
The only thing I know is that Diop is a very no-bullshit type of CB, read this

Most Passionate MemberShould stay imo. I don't think Rudiger is of a higher level. And Manolas is actually worse than him, who's just fast and can jump high but his gaffes are more frequent and more dangerous, he'd be completely exposed in our defense. Both would be, as is Murillo occasionally. Can't believe we allegedly wanted to spend all that money on them when we have a very similar player already here like Murillo. Our defense lacks confidence, so does he.
He should leave if we want to seriously upgrade (van Dijk, de Vrij, Kompany, Mammana etc)

10 years of FIFI think Murillo should play RB next season. Especially after this experiment from spaletti during the friendly. I say this because i remember a game vs Frosinone (which someone helped me remember) he played as rb, scored through a great run and it was arguably the best game i've seen murillo play. He may be limited offensively, but he has good technical ability to fill that role for a defender. Besides this is what spaletti wants, a rb who can play CB incase he needs to switch to a back three mid-game. Not hyping him up because of his goal, but i've always felt murillo was a better RB than a CB
