Enthusiasm? This is no enthusiasm. Do I say Forte is good? No. But he would cost us nothing.

And lolol better than Rocchi or Carew? What's the difference between an 33+ striker sitting on the bench and a primavera striker on the bench? 1.100.000 € (Rocchi 800.000 + Carew 300.000)

How anybody can stand behind this transfer is beyond me

You may be right, it is probably beyond you. But I can see the rationale, even though I think Carew is shite.

Because you are wrong, its not just about sitting on the bench... Even if Cassano & Palacio were physically capable of starting every game from now till the end of the season in all 3 competitions (which they are not), what happens if one of them gets injured or suspended?? If you play them so often, it is a very likely scenario. Then we only have Rocchi, who at this age is at best a wildcard.

It makes sense to get another wildcard as an insurance policy, and Carew is probably the best of the crap bunch available. Its a 15 day trial period to check for match fitness, after which Inter decide whether its worth having him or not. How is that bad? And what better option do we have?? True, Forte is free like you say, but you are not listening. He is shite even at the fucking primavera. Which probably means Ranocchia is a better CF than Forte.... if you think Forte will do better for us in Serie fucking A than a match-fit Carew, I sure would like some of that stuff you are smoking...

And if Carew passes his trial, its just 300 fucking thousand for god's sake!! We just paid 50 thousand last sunday because some morons hurled racial abuse at Balotelli.

Some of you guys aren't seeing the big picture here. We finally have a player with the proper height and physique to direct our fullbacks' (and Fantantonio's) crosses towards goal.

On a lighter note, he'll bring some much needed swag to this team :)datass:), which is much more classy compared to those punky- looking Milan players.

We might as well donate the 300k to charity.

A 'match fit' Carew doesn't exist. He hasn't played football for almost a year. And he hasn't played decent football (and I use that term very, very loosely) in 3 years.

He's an over the hill, useless nobody. Even worse than Rocchi. This guy was shit in the English 2nd division last time he played. And that was him being 'match fit'.

There is no situation where him playing is a good idea. Better to field an attack full of midfielders than put him out there.

It's only 300k, but it's a 100% waste of 300k. There's no upside.

Oh, and welcome to Inter.

He's not a goal scorer, IMO. We will be very luck to get goals out of him. But he is there to win headers, and hold up the ball. Lets see if he can do that, and then judge him.

I don't expect him to play through balls, dribble past defenders, hell, even turn and shoot the ball. Just win headers and hold up play.

They are attributes no one on our team currently has (none of our strikers, any way), and thats clearly the rationale here. Will it work? Maybe. If this were Serie B it would be borderline genius, but we're still in Serie A (knock on wood).

Gazzetta dello Sport - John Carew did not satisfy management after the first few physical tests. Will have 7 days to convince Inter. Otherwise, addios.

TBH he said by himself when he was at his top in Valencia that heading is one of his weakest sides.

Sorry Michael, but I find this hard to believe...

Addios is Spanish... I would imagine that management would use the Italian term Addio !

Henry was free agent as well, and i'm also not sure who else was
Henry not the whole year, he have to return to NYR. So he isnt really "free"

- - - Updated - - -

I didnt get why we didnt sign Anelka if we needed more options up front? Not that I think Anelka is worldclass anymore but he still is easily better than Carew or Rocchi.

If we make joke signs then Branca should sign me, at least I am younger and fitter than Carew.

Anyway, welcome to Pazza Inter! :awyeah:

Today when I first saw that Jonh Carew's thread has 5 pages I was like wow, this guy should have been really popular on fif some time ago. So I go to this thread looking forward to reading some funny or random news about Carew as, obviously, this guy is retired and no one cares about his football skills. but I see...he is moving to Inter...:pokerface::pokerface: it's just a bad dream, there is nothing to worry about, it's just a bad dream, right? wake me up in a few please. Thank you.
