If he comes just to replace suazo its fine but if he comes and we don't get our number 10 its poor.

Yes. He will be a different option to our attack.

He will most likely be to Mourinho's Inter what Drogba was to Mourinho's Chelsea.

Yes, agree. But if so, the problem was not getting a no 10. Baptista doesn't affect the failure to get a trequartista.

Unless something seriously wrong has gone down Baptista in Not Joses drogba he wont start as the lone man with two wingers in a 4-3-3 not at all is Baptita Drogba hes as physical as him with less skills hes a super sub off the bench and should take Sauzo spot instead of speed and velocity you have a hell of a lot of stregth.

"Inter's Drogba" was meant to be that the role on the pitch of Baptista will be like Drogba's at Chelsea. Not that Baptista's role will be what Drogba has at Chelsea. Not a first team striker in 4-3-3. Just a powerful striker with size and strength from the bench. And yes, Baptista will be mostly super sub for situations where Inter need a goal in the end, monster on the box.

Calm down lads, we were getting Baptista together with Sneijder this guy isn't our trequartista he's just another option for attack. Last season he did decide a few games for Roma so let's calm down put down our weapons and wait and see. I don't think that this will be our last transfer we still need that midfielder and I believe management have been working on it. Baptista is NOT a trequartista how crazy do you think Branca is? Lol come on people stop being drama queens, mercato's can change in seconds. Imo Baptista will come along with a midfielder (I'm still believing that the Sneijder deal is possible).

Let's buy Dinho as well and we cope all the players that are making serie A so 'competitive'. No more rivals.

It isn't. Baptista has nothing to do with Sneijder at all.

We are now trying hard to sign an attacking midfielder, which is one player only, but ending up with two at the last moments will really shock me.

Thats why its hard to believe it !!! But if its true it will be more than great, Sneijder (Or other player) With Baptista :wth:

So does this mean that Mourinho prefers Baptista over Cassano?

So does this mean that Mourinho prefers Baptista over Cassano?

HE cant possibly prefer Baptista as an attacker,it just the character of Cassano that creates the problem.

He can have bad influence in our team.We already have Difficult players to deal with like Baloteli and Eto'o,so a 3rd in attack might be too much.

Mourinho said something if I'm not mistaken that we will evaluate the situation in December,if we really luck a player like him we might get him.

Well, the point is probably that given the strikers we already have, Baptista adds pure physical strength. Cassano doesn't do that. For Mourinho, Cassano is a striker, because he has never played as a trequartista. We have Balotelli, Eto'o and Milito and that way, Cassano is somewhat not needed. He will need to push one of them out to come here, plus he costs money. The number one priority was to get a trequartista. Cassano isn't one, and since we couldn't buy both, we have opted for a trequartista (Sneijder) instead of Cassano.

Baptista will add his bit to our squad. He adds more than Suazo.

Good stuff from FR in this thread. Agreed with him in every word about
- Baptista
- not a trequartista replacement/plan B
- different player than Cassano

Still hope maybe we will go for Cassano, but if not, and Mancini/Obinna/Suazo will all leave, it will be good to have a sub like Baptista, who can cover couple roles in the team.

I agree with you FR except Cassano has actually played as a pure number 10 but that was 5 years ago at the Euro 2004 so its not like Cassano has played there all the time but he has played there. And that Baptista is diffrent then all our other forwards is true, but so is also Cassano
