I get the feeling that he has huge quality but needs playing time. Brozovic was the same in that position, as he sort of learned the role as he went.

Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani showed no lack of aggression and character despite the fact that he was making his first start for the club against Roma yesterday.
This is the view of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who gave the 20-year-old a 6/10 grade for his performance in the player ratings published in today’s print edition.
Asllani was forced into starting due to Marcelo Brozovic being suspended and injured, and whilst the Albanian was hardly perfect, he did not look like his nerves were getting to him based on his display.
The former Empoli midfielder ran hard, was not afraid of challenges, and wanted to get on the ball and keep things moving, as well as having the confidence to try his luck with a shot from range which went narrowly wide.
The Corriere praise Asllani for his display, whilst Edin Dzeko also got a 6/10 score and both Nicolo Barella and Federico got 6.5/10 grades, the highest for Inter players.
On the other hand, the entire back three and captain Samir Handanovic received underwhelming 5/10 scores for their yielding display at the back.

Was he the instant talent we were all hoping for? Not today. Did he make mistakes? Yes. Did he cost us the match? No. Was I happy that he started? Yes. Should he be played more often as a midfield starter on occasion? Yes. Should he be one of the first subs considered in any match? Most definitely.
