I'll laugh my ass off if we end up buying him only for Conte to bench him and then sub him in on 89s minute

If Messi really will leave barcelona, he will sign for City thanks to Guardiola, i'm sure.

They say he’s the only player who 100% owns his image rights. Can someone better explain what that means in terms of profitability (shirt sales, brand using etc)

People here will find a way to defend it.

theresa number floating around of 200mil fee + 100m a year salaryy for messi. not a chance we're getting him for that. I'd consider him on a free, with sponsorship deals helping to boost his salary, maybe 20-30mil net from inter direct.

Yeah. No way we can make it financially possible if there's a fee involved. Also if he's looking for a raise to his 50m€ net salary, what the fuck?

CR7 makes 31m€ so I don't really get it. Maybe that 100m€ talked about is gross?

Messi currently makes 50m annually, which is 100m gross.

The same salary at Inter with the new tax gives out a cost that is closer to 70m. [forgot the new tax figures]. Doesn't mean that he won't take a paycut, if the deal is over 4-5 years.

Barcelona wouldn't say no to any offer over 100m. If Messi is pressing them, they'll probably negotiate lower. If he threatens them but leaves the money on the table, they could even let him go for free.

If Suning wants him and have the financial muscle to pull it off, then welcome Lionel Messi. If not, it was just a dream.

At least now with Allegri taking over we won't have to worry about him being deployed as a wingback :einstein:

What about we follow a path like the one of Bayern or Liverpool instead of pay the retirement of Messi?
We haven't won shit yet to follow Juve into this kind of bullshit... and he ain't CR7

Comparing us buying LM10 with Juventus buying CR7 is ludicrous. Ronaldo strives on being fed while LM10 will help the team from being the creative one to making over 20 assists and god knows how many hockey-assists and all the other things CR7 does.

Ludicrous is thinking to add Messi at 33 and give him a three year contract worth over 200 mln euros. I tell you the first results, Marotta resign and rightfully so and then we will miss the money to build a great team. The real deal would be for Barca like it was for Real with CR7. Then if somebody like to be the prime team for merchandising and don't win anything or maybe only a scudetto and then disappear another 10 years... okay than.

There's virtually zero chance of Leo coming to Inter to start a new project. Much more logical for him to go to a team further down the champion path, particularly a familiar one with City

Have you ever been to Barcelona?
Have you ever been to Manchester?

With City at peak desperation, I would think that Pep cried will cry hard enough to convince the Sheiks that Messi is the missing piece.

Not even Messi can save Guardiola’s job.

I've been to both cities and the logical move, if Messi leaves Barcelona, is City.
We should close this thread for over.
