Do you think Inter needs this player?

Wow, no comments in this thread??

I thought for sure this thread would have come back to life for the next few days. I thought Jimenez looked great against us last night. He showed us that talent that we saw from him in little spurts when he was with us.

I thought Parma's best players were Biabiany and Jimenez. Just a coincidence that they are both our players?? :p

He needs usual play, many minutes, trust to play on high level. So he is only a mid-table material maximum.

In Inter he wouldn't get enough minutes and his performance wouldn't be enough.

I still like him a lot and wish him the best, but I agree that there's just no place for him at Inter right now. He wants to be in Italy, so being at Parma and playing well there is perfect for him; hopefully they'll buy him when the loan ends. (Or half of him? I don't remember the details of the deal.)

Can the rest of Mariga come the other way? Is that an even slightly reasonable hope? (He's only half-Inter, right?)

That's what's likely to happen in either the jimenez or biabany deals.

That would be a smart move. We will probably have to give that plus some money but I think we will get that deal done this summer. Mariga will be more a part of the team next year.

Probably not. Mariga's other half is valued at €5 million, jimenez's full card is valued at €5 million. So may get away with just an exchange.

We should know some time in June. That's when the co-ownerships get sorted.

Stefan, in total how much did we paid for Jimenez? I remember when we bought the first half of his contract, it was more then 2.5 mil.

I have no idea . I think in total it would be €10-12 million. Can't remember how much the first half was I think it was something like €7 million.

Since Inter does not disclose their fees, it is tough to know. When we purchased the 50% in the Summer of 2008, Jimenez was rumored to be valued at €10M total. The rumor by all of the websites and papers back then were that we bought 50% and paid €5M for it. So in total, we spent €7.5M on Jimenez...

Most of his failed signings were not from South America:

Josemi - Spain
Antonio Nunez - Spain
Fernando Morientes - Spain
Jan Kromkamp - Netherlands
Mark González - Chile
Craig Bellamy - Wales
Ryan Babel - Netherlands
Jermaine Pennant - England
Robbie Keane - Ireland
Charles Itandje - France
Gabriel Paletta - Argentina
Philipp Degen - Switzerland
Andrea Dossena - Italy
Mauricio Pellegrino - Argentina
Andriy Voronin - Ukraine
Albert Riera - Spain
Alberto Aquilani - Italy
