Thuram with our system will thrive. It’s written in the stars. Only thing worrying is his injury history.

He is basically a small frame Lukaku with roughly the same speed, but better acceleration, better skillset, better positioning, better heading, and finishing roughly at the same level (Yikes at this one). His physical presence is also imposing, but he is a far lesser opponent to deal with. He will miss sitters, but given our circumstances the player has to have an if.

As for the last season, his worst run has been after the World Cup, where the individual level of the players almost generally went down. It also coincided with Gladbach‘s coach being optimist and trying to make Kramer (cdm) work at cam, and Plea being out of form/injured and being rotated for Stindl, etc.

Why I think that he would thrive here is the games he had together with Plea who was coming from the left wing, but mainly acted a bit like a second attacker. The two were working extremely well, and you could see that this guy can thrive with a moving striker next to him like Lautaro is.

Long story short: considering our possibilities and the profile we’re looking for (Lukaku) this is the guy to go for. It won’t get better looking at price - quality.
Wtf are you smoking? No way is this guy better than Lukaku right now haha

I’m not impressed by him but I see potential specially in our system.

There’s no options really… him or keep wasting money on lukaku
oh yeah there is.

Im honestly dissapointed by Marotta and Ausilio. Where are our scouts? and please no one come with this retegui. That guy was "found" by Mancini, not Inter, which is ridicioulous and just shows that no one was looking for some interesting player appart from this fcking Thuram. There is no one that we actually followed. Even if we have no money, we are talking about a big club that just reached the CL Final and on paper still can fight for the Serie A title. Let's not act like it's impossibile to find any interesting players that could join us for not much money. It's sad to say that but the management here is sleeping.

Inter isn't a club that is expected to find hidden gems. That's a job for Napoli, Udinese and Fiorentina.

We either go for the next big thing (ie Lautaro), or established players. Our issue is financial here. I'm not going to tear Marotta apart for not taking a chance at Kvarachelia for example, even if he was a relatively known entity. But going for some players just makes sense.

Retegui for example is followed by us, but doesn't make sense. We should have gone for Firmino.

On the other hand, while Marcus Thuram is an evident target for us, we've also played against him and know him very well as we've followed him for 5 years or so...

But with the salary we're said to offer him I'd expect his brother to tag along and his father to dance around Torino singing Juve Juve merda!

His gross salary would be around 7.8M if Schira is right. Not THAT high.

If you want to stay relevant under Suning, you have to. There's no other option. The only alternative is constantly signing grandpas.

We have milked the last ounce of football of several newcoming older players, so I honestly don't really mind that. The problem is not the older players, it's that we have no depth. If only we managed to keep some of our Primavera talents for the first team...

Signing Thuram here feels like a move to sell him next season if he pans out. That's what I don't like. Similar to how we're treating Onana.

Young players cannot survive Inter without veterans around, don't ignore that aspect. Remember how we officially entered "Banter Era"? 2014-15 oldies clearance....

Im not expecting someone like Kvara but at least trying to get someone and not to try always on the same player. As i said, Dia would be interesting. Serie A proven, would earn less then Thuram. This are the kind of players we can get. I don't see why Thuram should be a better solution, really. At this point Nzola would be an option too...

Don't have one.
In France they claim Thuram chose Inter. Few hours of interest were enough to ditch CL DNA
They can't compete with us in terms of salary, it's that simple imo given their salary cap.

Nzola would be okay for 4th option, if he costs like a 4th option that is.

Dia is an interesting player but he's not one that Inter should be following. On the other hand, Thuram has played in CL, has played for a good (albeit inconsistent) Bundesliga team and has interesting characteristics that we like to highlight, apart from getting some goals.

On paper, Thuram was a player we should have been going for. I was advocating for this move earlier, but wasn't expecting us to pay him over 6m net - assuming that's true. That's what I'd expect us to throw at Firmino for a 2 year + optional 3rd. Thuram I expected at 4.5m net, or 5m just because we have the growth decree in our favor.

Retegui on the other hand, I agree. Not a player we should be following. Decent scorer and has some good moves, but if Boca felt they have to loan him about for years and not use him, they probably saw that something was missing, at least mentally.

Woould be a fantastic signing. Much better than overrated Scamacca
he might also join us, on loan, if West Ham cannot find a schmuck to spend as much as they have.
