This thread is about one particular player whom you think we can afford, can get in January and one who can be a matchwinner - specially in Europe.
Despite all the money we spent in summer, 3 of the 4 are fringe players - (counting Jiminez) and Sulley Muntari, even though a fine, hard working CM, who has scored 2 important goals in 2 weeks is not someone who would drastically improve our chances of some success in Europe this season.
Ibra, as we all know, is not a big-match player - yet. Time and Again he has flatterred to deceive. But, he will remain an important cog in the Inter bandwagon as we need his magic to seal matches against the mid-table and lower teams.
Adriano - the best of the rest, as most of would agree (i mean when he is playing) is still no where near the player he used to be - and one can safely say he would never be Inter's saviour on a cont basis - specially in Europe.
Cruz - only good as a supersub. You may give me all the stats about his goal scoring to mins played ratio - but honestly, how many inspiring performances do u recall from him when he has played from the very beginning. He is Inter's Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. Period.
Balotelli - good talent, but he and Mourinho does not seem to have clicked.
Crespo/Obinna/Figo - I think we can safely say that they can not be categorised as "matchwinners"
So that brings us to the question - who can be our matchwinner? One guy - whom we need, whom we can afford, one who is available, and one - who can make the difference on his day.
No point is saying we need Messi or Villa or Torres or Aguero or Gerard or Lampard - because they are neither realistic and more importantly, not available for Europe.
And before you say that we can not afford to sign any one, please bear in mind Moratti paid a whole lump of compensation to Mancini and his staff (rumored to be around 60m) just to add Big Ears to the trophy cabinet ...
