Simpson might leave and I think Santon has finally nailed his place in first 11 as LB. Even when Ryan Taylor was fit, Santon started few games (If I remember correctly) at the end of the season.

Pajo, your disdain of Santon is ridiculous. In the 2nd half of last season, Santon started every Newcastle game (21) except 3. He also played LB. Debuchy is RB.

Yeah, i know he did, but that's only because Taylor was injured. Yeah he was fit at the end, but Santon was doing OK, and Taylor wasn't 100%, so... I bet Taylor will play ahead of Davide if both are used as LBs.

TBH, i'd move Taylor to LW, and play Santon as LB.

TBH, i'd move Taylor to LW, and play Santon as LB.

Taylor is not a good FB at all, he played well last season and Newcastle defensive unit was solid so Pardew just continued it. He was a RM at Wigan then started playing as RB, now playing as LB. He is good at set pieces but apart from that Santon > Taylor.

Also Santon was new to the team so was introduced gradually, next season he might even play from day 1.

Newcastle midfield is very good with Ba playing as LW. Tiote, Cabaye, Jonas in the midfield 3 and Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa in the attacking 3. In some games 4-4-2 with Ba, Cisse as forwards, Jonas as LW.

But he is very important player for them. Offers good cover for FB too, Taylor is not that good, just a good set piece taker. Awesome value in Fantasy team though. 4.2 absolute steal

I did have him on fantasy But i don't think he is bad player at all, quite the contrary We will see how it goes, but i know, Newcastle is building very good team. Debuchy might do great in EPL.

Ryan Taylor is a nice guy but a fairly awful footballer outside of his ball striking. Santon is a much better footballer and defender but it just took him time to settle in and for him to get his chance, he was one of our best players second half of the season. He'll be first choice left back next season if we get Debuchy. Simpson is almost certainly leaving.

Oh and Jonas is a great player for us. Hard worker, fantastic stamina, great ball carrier and very flexible tactically.
