I wouldnt be surrpised if Jonathan features more on the wing than defense for us. He looks quite good going forward, but not so great defensively.

Debuchy will only come if we offload Maicon. And plus we have to beat all the other clubs that want him... Also not to mention the fact that a deal with another tream may be struck before we even offload Maicon if it ever happens.

Unfortunately Cissokho would cost 12+ and if we sell Maicon we are only getting 10. We should roll with M'Baye or Faoroni and give them the muchneeded playing time and experience.

Inter Battle Newcastle for Mathieu Debuchy with Superior Bid

Inter are battling Newcastle United for Lille full back Mathieu Debuchy and have bid €2M more than the Magpies for the French defender.

Alan Pardew’s Premier League side made their move for Debuchy earlier this week, offering Rudi Garcia’s men €5M for the 26-year-old, an amount which was not to Lille’s pleasing.

The 2010/11 Ligue 1 champions are thought to have a higher figure in mind and Inter have now entered the fray by placing a bid of €7M for Debuchy.

The Nerazzurri’s bid is also believed to include a series of add-ons which could take the final total for the France international even higher.

There does not yet appear to have been a response from Lille and Inter will be hopeful that their proposal will meet with the French side’s approval.

The ball now looks to be firmly in Newcastle’s court, with the English Premier League club needing to at least match Inter’s terms to stay in the race for Debuchy.

The defender is currently at Euro 2012 with Laurent Blanc’s Les Bleus squad, preparing to meet Spain in the competition’s quarter-finals on Saturday.

Debuchy is a product of Lille’s youth system and has clocked up nearly 300 appearances for the club since making his senior team debut in the 2003/04 campaign.
