Who are the potential candidates to eventually replace Icardi if he leaves: Lacazette, Diego Costa...?

Icardi is asking us for 5M as reported. thats not so greedy if napoli is indeed offer him 6.8M + 3M image right.

it is just wanda needs close her legs a bit for ADL's offer and behave.

In fact, it reports that Insigne want 5M salary too....
any quality replacement will cost us similarly on salary.

Milito had 4,5 million. Icardi will never be close to the player Milito was.

Insigne wantin 5 mil is a joke. Based on what he thinks he is worth anywhere near of that?

Transfer fees and salary are well inflated atm. 5M does not mean the same as it was couple years ago.

No one will be as the player Ronaldo is back then. but he come to us for 20M and going to Madrid for 40M. And you know, a Ronaldo level player will cost now.

And if ADL willing to offer him 6.8M + 3M image right, saying that he is no where deserve getting 4.5M a year is a joke to me. ADL is not stupid.

5M is what reported, and I think it is what he asks. it is different from what he will eventually get. But my point is those replacement we are looking for wont be cheap either.

Insigne is asking for 3,5m to stay in Napoli. According to a report, Inter are willing to offer him 5m to lure him away from Napoli. That gave the false impression to some that he demands a 5m wage, which isn't true of course.

We will never offer Insigne 5m per. That's planted rumor by us (to fuck up with ADL) or Insigne's agent.

Pretty much fiction but a hypothetical Icardi=30mil+Insigne deal..
Would you guys do it?!

No. Insigne is not better then either ivan or cadreva and €30 million doesn't get us any quality replacement for icardi in this market.

Yeah and I really doubt our management would even consider any swaps, only pure cash offers.

I am leaning towards keeping him now because I feel it is a bit too late to enter the market for a proven striker.Even if we get 60-70 mil for Icardi there is no way a proper replacement can be achieved for anything less than 50 mil and since we have only 2.5 weeks left in the market I am sure clubs will know we have money and we are desperate.I do not think there is a replacement ready within Serie A which means we will have to bring in a player who might not suit Serie A or may need time to adapt to the league and the team without having had a pre-season with us.

Correct me if I am wrong but Diego Milito had a full pre season with us whilst the Eto'o deal took place rather late in the market and Eto'o didn't have a great 1st season with us but had a stellar 2nd season.I am not saying this is a norm and the Serie A isin't as tough as it used to be but this may be something to ponder upon.

With Banega and Candreva behind him and with Perisic having hit a rich vein of form towards the end of last season proving that he has settled into Serie A and having had a good Euros I think Icardi will score more goals this year than last year.I also feel he will be managed better by De Boer than Mancini whose tactics suit a player like Ibra or Aguero but not Icardi.

I see guys like Morata,Diego Costa,Cavani,Bacca as replacements of the same stature as Icardi and I think all of them will be expensive and all of them will demand wages around 5 mil [perhaps not Bacca but surely the other 3].Bringing in a guy who is not an established name just yet as a replacement is very risky.

Keeping Icardi also really puts a lot of pressure on Napoli who are our rivals for a Ucl spot and who are looking very desperate and chaotic right now.

My only problem is the way the player's agent has acted but I think it is best we swallow this bitter pill now due to the aforementioned reasons.I wanted him sold but alas tis too late!

Valid points raiden but there's also the possibility of Jovetic leading the line with Palacio/Eder as back up. Guess it all depends on de Boer and how he sees things, does he want an Icardi-like player to spear head the attack? Or can he work with the other strikers. Sadly, time is not on his side.

Of course I'm talking with the assumption that the management will not replace Icardi if he's sold.

No. It's wrong.

Eto'o first season was under Mourinho and he was deployed more as a left wing. His main job was to support Milito more than to score goals on his own. Eto'o on the left was as important as Maicon on the right. In the second season after the World Cup, Milito became injury prone. Eto'o was played by Benitez as the main CF then it continued under Leonardo that Eto'o became our main weapon.

Eto'o was always fantastic, he was just underrated on this forum by a bunch of morons who couldn't even tell you what's inside a football.

Probably the same morons that thought Icardi is a great striker and Inter captain. Is this overrated joke still here? 70mil lmao, he's not even worth half that.
