Though he is still in Inter player, Mauro Icardi is already having an impact in Naples, and not a good one.

The offer Napoli have made to agent Wanda Nara is a big one: €5 million a year, plus another €5 in bonuses related to his image rights. These record sums are, however, turning out to be a problem for the club, as they irk with the rest of the locker room.

Inter make new contract offer to Icardi

The Nerazzurri captain is set to be offered a new contract.

Mauro Icardi’ wife and agent Wanda Nara has been campaigning hard for a new and improved contract for her client this summer. Bizarre posts on social media and even calling out Inter directors for “wanting to sell their captain” are only a piece of the action this summer.

But according to Corriere dello Sport, the club is ready to offer a big contract to their forward. €5 million net is on the table, but Wanda Nara wants at least €6 million.

Inter could bridge the gap via bonuses related to Champions League qualification, goals, assists and other merit based bonuses.

For now, it looks increasingly likely that Icardi will be wearing Nerazzurro after the window closes.
