Damn, I’m surprised in this development. Good shit. Shame we couldn’t work something out with Porto for January, but nice coup regardless if we do pull it off. Best realistic bosman option available in attack by far. And I think he is best suited for a front 2.

I have figured out Ali Karimi was an inside joke on FIF long time ago but till this day i still don't know how the whole thing started. Care to share the details? :D

Back in 2012 when Karimi was well into his 30s, some Iranian came to the forum and insisted he would be a key signing for Inter.

Mixed feelings about this.

Infinitely preferable to Sanchez, probably Arnautovic too. He’s also a standard #9 goal scorer in some respects.

That said, completely not the profile I wanted, which was someone with a bit of pace for a change, even if they’re more of a winger / wide forward.

Imagine if we had a Leon Bailey type player in the squad. Would be so useful to have that kind of skill set in our arsenal. Something we’ve completely lacked for years.

I wanted someone more pacy too. It doesn't surprise me we are going for Taremi though given that we really need to focus on the free transfer market as we can't spend anything until we sell - even then we can only use a fraction of that money to buy players.

I think Taremi is a huge improvement over Arnautovic/Sanchez - I just wish there was a way the 4th striker could be someone outside of Arnautovic/Correa next season.

He's the most important profile: free.

No night clubs???
You clearly don't know much about Persians/Iranians
Enlighten me pls. That is new.

As from my Muslim friends they are so strict that 1/ no alcohol and 2/ no meat without "hala" (?!?) sign (must be killed in a certain way).

Agreed. However those players cost money as they’re rarely out of contract when they are in their prime years and still have their pace. Thats what makes Thuram signing such a unicorn.

I think the best we can hope for is somehow shipping out Arnautovic so we aren’t stuck with two large cumbersome aging number 9s who aren’t suited to play together. Then maybe we have someone like Carboni as the 4th forward. Not pacey but at least a different more creative profile then we currently have.

Majority of Iranians, especially the younger generation, are just non practicing muslims

He has been complete garbage so far this season.

Signing a massively declining player, who will be 32 when he joins, on a 2-3 year contract, from a much weaker league, who obviously develop anymore, seems like a weird strategy.
Seems like standard practice to me.

Its the best striker you can get on a Bosman. He is also more suited to a 2stiker system. He will be an upgrade and help us

He has precisely the requirements we need: free, experienced, and a devout Muslim so will not frequent night clubs.

On the contrary, Iranian youth love night clubs, party, dance, alchohlic drinks
he is one of those hypocrites who pretends he is a muslim in public but he does, in secret, whatever a muslim shouldn't do.

I've known this bitch when he played in the iranian league for more than a decade and always hated him. If someone had told me in the past that he would join Inter one day, I would have thought he was insane.
he is gonna be the 4th striker replacing Sanchez who couldn't offer anything (sadly). he is gonna be 32 when he comes and that's the age Marotta like the most
