Guys, you can't blame Miha for that goal. Yeas it was a stupid foul, but our defence system was horible. So we had 2-3 free kicks near the goal and Milan was ready for them. Their defenders are just stronger and taller, and also better prepared for those st-piece situations ...
I think that Cordoba was excelent before he ruined evrything with that 2 bad markings... but I don't blame him, he wasn't suposed to mark Stam who is tall 195 and strong like hell. It was Mancio's mistake 'cuase he is choosing which player is marked. Also we had short formation on the field, so we didn't have to foul Milan playeres near our peanlty area. Another tactial mistake.

I don't know did you see, but Miha was controling space. He also had some good tackles, but some people in this forum just hate him so much and look only by his mistakes. Cruz's foul was also very stupid, even dumber than Miha's but again our defence sistem failed.

Stankovic was bad in 1st half.. yes, but he isn't player for LW. He wasn't even playing AM, he was on wing. If he can play as a true AM like Kaka, I think that he would be very good. Mancio's tactic was bad for this match, I hope he'll realise his mistakes for the next game. But even if we don't pass Milan, I want him to stay one more year. Remmember, we must give a chance to project. I don't even care if Prandeli is better coach than him, I would go with Mancini for another year and if there isn't going to be any result - you know what to do

In fact, our tactis has failed. Also we needed Matrix for those high balls, but then Miha must be on the bench. Shame is that Inter's best free kick taker is a defender... This is Inter's problem, we don't have complete defenders like Milan. Miha is excelent in positioning, but slow. Cordoba is fast, but can't man mark and he's too short.
Last night our game was very compct in the midfield. and this is what I like to see. But still conection between attack and midfield is weak, we need Stankovic in form very badly.
Also Vieri was the worst Mancio's mistake tonight, apart that bad defending system after corners and free kicks.

But still, I have a hope for the next match. 1st half has proved that Milan isn't perfect. Still they wont make same error like they did against Deportivo. They tried to play offensivly, and they got 4 goals in their net. Milan will play the same game like he did last night - even stronger in defence, with compact midfield and they will wait and defend. And if they score only one goal, it's over cause we'll need 4-1 to proced to the semi final. Mission immposible, please someone call's Tom Cruz or 007

We need attacking formation, and a lot of everything (luck, determination, creativity) to score an early goal. This is going to be very very hard, but this is our only hope. But we mustn't forget to defend our goal. It' bigger problem to play 4-1 than 2-0 :)
I think that we can't score 3 or 4 goals against this Milan, so let's hope for 2-0 and penalties. This is only solution for this Inter, without Adriano and Recoba... Nothing is immposible if you know how to play. All inter players are fighters, I know they'll give their 100% and maybe more. I am sorry for them 'cause they deserve victory.
p.s. I know we'll win!!!!
Any one who is talking bull crap about Inter, should STAY AT HOME AND WATCH HIS STUPID PORNO MOVIES ON TUESDAY NIGHT 12th APRIL.

Forza Inter, non molare mai

I think those blaming Miha are just upset about the outcome. For my money, he played well, just that mistake against Sheva and his unnecessary outburst against the ref.

At least he is better than Materazzi, if the latter was playing, we would've lost by more. And if you think his marking is good, just go and look at the Siena game and his riduculous marking of Flo. Materazzi is good only at winning some aerial balls. And for those he uses his elbows, knees and everything. We end up conceding a fould and a yellow card.

I said this a thousand times, but I will repeat. Blame Mancini for the loss, he got it all wrong.

Sorry, but this is just dumb. Cruz did not have to foul Pirlo. All he had to do is close down the space and force Pirlo towards the flank. Pirlo is not good at crossing under pressure. Mihajlovic did not have to foul Sheva either. Cruz and Mihajlovic screwed up! End of story!

Now, repeat after me:

THERE IS NO FAVOURITISM!
THERE IS NO FAVOURITISM!
THERE IS NO FAVOURITISM!

Correct me if I am wrong but is this not the same formation that everyone says was extremely unlucky to loose vs. Milan? The same formation which recieved a standing ovation for it's display in spite of the loss, something rarely seen at Italian football grounds? And the same one who had Milan effectively shut down until Cruz decided to play Santa Claus? You lament about Stankovic, yet when Mancini benches him his replacement has you longing for Deki! Kily, Karagounis, VDM all sucked the big one, although this last one is finally starting to look better. And Veron, now he sucks too? WTF ????? And who is better according to you people? Emre? Pleeease!!!!!! Favalli? Who would you like in his stead? Mihajlovic? He has shown much more then Materazzi, it's a fact. So watch what you are writing.

And stop forcing me out of retirement! :D :D

Man, I don't know what you are talking about? Does a team qualify by standing ovations? That team failed against Milan, period. Whether it's luck or whatever, they couldn't get the job done. Smart coaches would look for a different alterantive, dumb ones will just insist, we all know where Manici belongs.

Kily is 100x better than Stan as a LW and VDM is better than Veron as a RW. Kily had a slow start but was improving, like against you in the second half and against Fiorentina. VDM was lively when he came yesterday and he gave Cafu lots of trouble. Only if he stops watching the scoreboard when a person passes him the ball.

About Cruz, in case you don't know, HE IS A STRIKER. He doesn't know the classics of defence, he either goes for the ball or has to foul to prevent Pirlo from giving a long ball.

BTW, good poing Frisko about the throw-ins. That is stupid, specially by JZ. This is the fourth time it happens this season, I've never seen a club does things like that. Obviously, THEY ARE SCARED AND NERVOUS AND THAT UNFORUTANTELY INCLUDES JZ, HE WAS FREAKING NERVOUS, I WANT CORDOBA TO BE THE CAPTAIN, HE IS FEARLESS.
1- It is Cruz's job not to have personal grudges against players (Pirlo) and to be proffesional and not to make the same mistake about 4 or 5 times, Pirlo had his side to the goal, nowhere to go, hardly a dribbler...would've passed back or tried to get a throw in but Cruz's incompentance cost a goal.

2- What are you talking about Kily and VDM, Kily's game against Fiorentina....? you mean the 10 minutes? Inter weren't playing with wingers, just because Veron is mentioned on the right hand side doesn't mean balls, he was clearly playing a central role...sometimes he went wide...but that's it.

3- If you truly believe that Cordoba should be captain, and to drop Javier Zanetti, you're a disgrace to the club.
Just because Cordoba has had one very good season, and you jump on his bandwagon, incase you forgot, he was pathetic last season...whereas Javier Zanetti has always played his 35+ matches every season and been consistent as feck. It is a farking fullbacks job to take the throw ins, if something occurs, it is the centre backs job to cover them, no ifs and buts.

Helal, I agree with almost everything you've said, but some just won't accept that its real, whatever makes them sleep at night- good on em'.

the pharouz luck

ok now um on frisko side and i know that we got all our balnce of bad luck but something we never talked about that without hope we can't do anything ... when we lose hope in life we become usless ....me as a football player it's not over this is only the first half of the hall game and if we lose hope and faith we shouldn't play the game then inter should stop playing football so we still have 90 m .... for some truth we couldn't win this game from the beg ..while we play without 3 of the football stars recoba ..davids and adriiii and milan is on full capacity ...but we played a game without fear we start it by attak and nothing but attak but it's almost hard to attak without some luck when we shocked by the first goal every thing is gone and we must stop on this point all we need is exprince
yes a player with exprince in such this stiuations a player like edgar davids we need him most he can play as a defender lw or even a play maker and he can scoooore at any time with his left bazoooka ... over that veron will be more free to attak by davids covering ...... aplayer like adriano can finish the game from the start .... then to all who talked about the game is over specially HAMED ...... have u ever played a 90 m ... if u do this u 'll never lose hope ... then i need to ask u and every one what 'll happen if we scoore in the first 10 m of the game by a corner kick or a counter or a superb cross ....2 players like verii and adriii can detonate any defnsive block in any time all we need is a clear tactic ... davids +adriano + the pharouz luck = we will qualify

and remember we are not born to be unlucky and in egypt we always say
"some times we lose faith and then we find our space "
the pharouz' here for nerrazzurri

Are you telling me that Kily would've been a worse LW than Stan? The guy was one of the best LW's in the world. He can cross, score and defend. When he played as a LW, Favalli improved considerably, and they combined nicely. I guess you are as stubborn as Mancini, you never get it.

About Cruz, did you want him to stand around like Vieri and let Pirlo advance? And what is this grudge you are talking about? Do you know something about them that we don't.

And your last point, it was really pathetic. Cordoba had one good season with inter? You said that you've been an inter fan for a while? Is that two seasons? I've followed Corodoba since he came and he has been one of the best players in the team. And yes, he deserves to be the captain. He is intense and he leads by example.

I love JZ to death, but I just don't see him as the kind of captain we need at this moment. He is way too nice, I want to scream everytime I hear his post game comments, they are all carbon copies. He never challenges the team or anything.

Also, I sense that he is nervous at times. Your team takes strength from you. Cordoba was making crucial tackles and then try and direct his teammates. JZ never does that, he is just way too nice. We need a fiery and an outspoken captain like Keane, Vieira etc.

Go ahead and think of that as a degradation to JZ, but it's not. I loved him and I will always do. I don't think Moratti has the nerve to strip his captaincy, and it will never happen. So, I just hope he stops being way too nice the whole time and starts screaming at this teammates and show that he is a rock.

Saying that Kily would've been a better left winger than Stan is easy said, but seeing as how the guy hasn't done balls since the Olympics, makes it more logical. Kily WAS one of the best, not IS. He got sold by Valencia because he had too many injury problems and because they had another left winger who shat on him.
Cruz's job is to help out his fellow striker and not to leave him alone against Stam and Nesta, he had a few goes at Pirlo all of them resulted in free kicks, if you truly believe that he did the right thing, I'm not going to even bother, the best Pirlo could've got was a throw in and what does Cruz do?
What I meant WRT to Cordoba is that last season he was pathetic, and only this season has he returned to his form of 02/03. Don't even question of how long I've supported Inter my friend, well back in the 80's, FYI.
I would agree that JZ at times is a bit too nice, but he takes charge when he needs to, just because you don't see him yelling at his players doesn't mean he isn't a commanding captain. Cordoba was making crucial tackles but he was also making crucial errors (beaten by Stam and Sheva- 2 goals) but I don't blame that on him, hardly but he was making errors.

I kinda knew that, but I was shocked to hear you say Cordoba was good for one season. Probably you should've said he had a bad year last year - which I don't agree with - in your earlier post.

Cordoba is 5'8 for crying out loud. How can he defend Stam, why doens't Mancini insturct the taller palyers - Stan, Cruz, JZ, Favalli - to mark the tall players. The sheva thing was a mistake, but I thought Miha was supposed to take Sheva.

You're not a bad bloke after all.
Agreed with pretty much all you said there. But WRT to Cordoba on Stam, I think if Cordoba should've taken charge and put someone else on Stam....he needs to stop being nice and take charge  ;)2
Cordoba did have a bad season last year, very poor, still remember the Roma game at the Olimpico, almost broke me TV :rollani:

Analyse the mistakes, improve it and start becoming a team.

OK all this talk about set pieces. who do we blame, coach or players? well its down to hte coach sorry fellas.

Earleir this year who watched Arsenal? i sure did, almost every week. There weak point? set pieces.

They conceded 2 goals against Chelsea from set pieces, and many other teams too. Why? they were doing a zonal defence in the box.

then they changed to man marking each player tightly as possible with some people doing the zoning in the danger spots and it works like a charm.

mancini isnt setting up the players well.

Still no-one is telling me what Veron did much better than Stankovic, apart from winning some balls back. I'm not saying Stankovic was amazing but I really don't see why pick him as the negative player.

Frisko, Veron was better than Stankovic coz he was involved more in the game. Also coz I could see Veron so many times during the game (with the ball). Ofcourse, he's our main midfielder who would pass around the ball, but Stankovic was really bad and I don't know how could you say that he had a good game. May be you can watch the game again.

Either we should change our tactic/formation to play Stankovic or just bench him. What about playing like this if Mancini doesn't want to bench Stankovic:

KILY(LM) ---- STANKOVIC ---- CAMBIASSO ---- VERON(RM)

And for god sake, I don't want anyone here to say that it's not Stankovic's true position in LCM. Stankovic played in that position for Lazio and plays at his best in that position. If not Stankovic there, then just play Karagounis.

Ofcourse, nothing more than that. Saying that, I wouldn't mind Burdisso to partner Cordoba as well. :)

But that could also be a wrong move, coz Burdisso hasn't played since a long long time.

Kily is a better winger that Stankovic, without a doubt. ;)
And it's been already proved as well. The only worse thing is that Kily wasn't with us in the start of the season and he got injured.

There was another left winger in Valencia who did shat him, but who was that winger ?? ------> VICENTE ;)

When you surround someone with Helveg and Cannavaro, that's what you get. But he wasn't the worse in that match, first it was Helveg (nice 180 by Cassano) then fabulous Cannavaro then it was Cordoba. That was one horrible game man! :scared:

I'm going to say one last thing about set pieces then I'll just give up.

Why are set pieces dangerous? Because they're going to create a number of 1-to-1 challenges. It's not about defense against attack anymore, it's Cordoba v Shevchenko, Mihajlovic v Crespo and so on. This means that, if one player can't win the challenge, the striker is going to have only the keeper to beat before scoring.

Now, you must think that Mancini spends the week playing Playstation games, and that training is basically just running around the Pinetina. I actually think that Mancini prepares the squad for each game, looking at each of the teams we face, their strenghts and their weaknesses. This involves set pieces as well, obviously.

It's also obvious that each player knows what to do in case of a set piece: who is to keep an eye on whom, who's stopping the players inside the area, who's taking care of players just outside the area and so on.

If you really think that, after all the goals we conceded on set pieces, Mancini didn't make a priority out of that, then I don't know what to tell you guys. You must think Mancio is a pure, complete idiot. I happen to disagree.

It's obvious to me that players fail to win these 1-to-1 challenges with their opponents, and then we concede goals. Headers are particularly bad for us, that's why I'm not sure if you should play Mihajlovic again on Tuesday (because of free-kicks and corners) or Matrix (because he's definitely better than Mihajlovic at headers).

Then he is a bad coach at set-pieces, I guess. Are you going to blame 11 players then? They look clearly clueless, I am sure that he emphasizes on attack the whole time and doens't pay much attention to defense. The numbers speak for themselves.

This is very sad news:

INTER FAN DIES IN THE STANDS, PROBABLY A HEART ATTACK
06-04-05

Milan - An Inter fan has died in the stands of the Curva Nord while he watched the Champions League match Milan - Inter.

Another fan, a Milan fan has fractured a leg falling from the 3rd tier to the 2nd, because he was trying to change sector. :finger:

The fan that died, who's details have not been fully revealed yet was a 52 year old man who came from Crotone and was in the Curva Nord was his friend, when just after 21:00 he told his friend he wasn't feeling well. The people near him alerted the emergency services but there was nothing that could be done for the Inter fan. It is now believed he suffered from a heart attack...

Then there is some more news about the :finger: Milan fan...
