Who said that?
Just roughly crunching the numbers, potential revenue from selling Salah jerseys is pocket change and isn't worth discussing. Increasing our fan base is probably more difficult to calculate and actually worth talking about. Profit from selling jerseys is bs except for very few players.

Selling merchandise shouldn't even be a consideration, the additional income is negligible.

That's not necessarily true. In the long run expanding your fan base is a huge way of producing income. Look at Manchester United and Real Madrid. They're shirt sales and fan bases are HUGE! Which in return allows them to have better sponsorships etc. So if two players are on a similar level of skill I'd take the one that allows for an expansion of our brand and avenue to more markets

I agree, I did say expanding the fan base is something worth taking into consideration, but revenue from selling Salah jerseys in the short term is peanuts, it won't even pay the loan fee.

Latest rumours are that we will wait this week for the Chelsea-Fio fiasco to be resolved, where we will than make an offer of loan + obligation to purchase once he is cleared. If this doesn't end next week, then we are going to go after Jovetic the week after. Salah is first choice right now.

Only remember how many people are watching Nagatomo. Yes, Nagatomo. So how could be the "Messi of Egypt" not sell jerseys?

Watching does not = buying jerseys. My entire point was that getting a player (Salah) to increase the fanbase is great, but jersey sales are not worth mentioning, unless you're talking Messi / CR7 / James / Falcao and a few others.
How much money do you think Inter is making off Nagatomo jerseys?

Well there's also a difference in culture. Middle eastern culture is all about football, while the Far East maybe not as much.

So his shirt will probably sell loads more than nagatomo but idk if it'll be significant

Well to be fair he did better at Fiora than Shaq for us in those 4/5 months tbh...I would be kind of ok with Salah and Jojo in(unfortunately we can't) and then Shaq out(even though I rate Shaq highly)

but Shaq out and Jojo,Perisic is a no go for me.

Why can't we keep Shaq and get only Jojo ffs?!

Winning sells more merchandise but i understand the importance of market appeal. Id prefer to overpay for salah, than pay for jovetic based on potential.

Yeah but to be fair he also played in a team that is not a big mess like Inter is and actually played under a good coach.
To be fair, I don't think Salah would have done better than Shaqiri if we had gotten him instead.

Anyway, Salah at 20M>JoJo at 20m. Anything more for Salah is too much. I would prefer Jojo but only if he was no more than 15M as it should be. Risky, but a risk worth taken IMO

Lol at people who think selling jerseys is the only source of revenue.

Better fanbase = better TV deal, better sponsorship deals, better marketing power, better power on transfer market...

Salah-Roma, Loftus-Cheek for Viola?
Fiorentina won’t sue Chelsea, but in return want Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan and veto Mohamed Salah to Inter, which lets in Roma.

The transfer saga reaches a head today, as Salah officially refuses to attend pre-season training in Florence.

As the Viola have already paid the €1m to extend his loan by 12 months, and their lawyers insist Salah missed his deadline for the power of veto over the move, this sparks legal action.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina have presented an intriguing set of conditions to Chelsea in order to avoid FIFA arbitration and a potential six-month ban for the Egypt international.

The first criterion is to receive a different player on loan for €1m, as promised in the terms of the Juan Guillermo Cuadrado sale in January.

It’s reported the man they want in place of Salah is 19-year-old England midfielder Loftus-Cheek.

The Viola ask for a ‘value’ payment for improving Salah’s price-tag while he spent six months playing regularly in Florence.

They also require that Salah be barred from joining Inter this summer, a club they openly accused of trying to illegally poach while under contract.

However, Fiorentina would allow a transfer to a different Serie A rival, namely Roma, who behaved ‘better’ in the entire saga.

Haha, Fiora - Like this couldn't get any better?
Reading Fiora statements is better than all the rumours of players leaving/joining other clubs.

[h=1]SKY - SALAH, FIORENTINA "OPEN" TO CHELSEA EVEN LESS MONEY BUT NEVER AT INTER[/h]13/07/2015 19:12 by Daniele Mari Twitter: @ danmari83 article read 304 times
Fiorentina is softening with Chelsea on the issue Salah. Not with the player, with which there is an open war, but with the blues yes, because from London arrived signs of an opening of the Chelsea on compensation to Fiorentina. Now we have to agree on the type of payment. Fiorentina, explaining to Sky, is also willing to accept a lower premium enhancement, in terms of money, provided the Chelsea agree not to sell Salah to Inter.
