How about Inter buy it and make BBilan pay us rent.

I think that price has to be a mistranslation or something.

Yeah, if there is a price then just go ahead and buy the damn stadium before Milan. Renovate a bit and use it for the next couple of years while developing a plan for a new stadium.

I have read that the renovation cost of the stadium is 70mil. He also said that some third company would be required to give cost estimate for buying out.

Exactly what I was thinking. Have them pay rent while we undergo the renovation and then kick them out.

Don't have one.
Sala (Milan Mayor) said that us and AC Milan can buy San Siro for 70 million.

Seems like a no brainier to me, then we can do what we want with it.

What a hilariously desperate move from them, I remember couple of years ago those people would laugh at our face if we put some kind of offer on table, but now when we are seriously considering building new stadium they are in full panic mode and are coming up with offers to just squeeze some more money from us, as if previous years were not enough...

They are panicking, and very badly, because we have finally threatened them with building the stadium elsewhere, in the close town of Sesto San Giovanni.

It would be a huge loss to the city of Milano.

the tables have been turned, we have the upper hand.

I find it funny that this Milan Mayor Sala finally realised that stadio meazza is worth pretty much nothing if Inter and Milan leaves elsewhere. Until this point he has acted liked he is having the power in this situation.

What's funnier is he claims to be interista.

He shluld be a Milanoista first and foremost and then a football fan. Would've you liked it if he was biased but towards the black and red part of the town and he somehow favored them openly?

As far as I'm concerned, we could even become Internazionale New Delhi, or Rio de Janeiro, etc. To me, "Internazionale" is what counts.

Also, and more importantly, new and therefore private stadium would mean Inter can decide who can enter and who can't. So screw racist and fascist ultras.

That said, imho it will most likely be in Milano.

Inter and milan will have a meeting this afternoon with representatives of the city council. they will show images from the two projects for the new stadium. which both include a large area for commercial activities.

next tuesday (the 24th) the two projects will be unveiled for the public. it will be an 1.2 billion euros investment (joint investment, of course).

Inter and milan, which have rejected the mayor's proposal to refurbish san siro, will also ask the citizens of milano to express their views on the two projects.

the two architectural firm are Populous, which were project managers for Tottenham's stadium and the stadium of Minneapolis (american football); and Manica-Cmr, project manager for Cagliari's and Padova's future stadiums.

the only rumour at present about the two projects is that both would have a somewhat rectangular-shaped stadium, like san siro.

Inter and Milan 'optimistic' on stadium

Inter and Milan “are working together and are very optimistic on the new stadium project” after a meeting with the local authorities.

Despite the Mayor of Milan offering to sell the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to the two clubs for restructuring, both Serie A giants agreed that the problems within the arena simply go too deep.

It’d be cheaper and more cost-efficient to build a whole new stadium, which would still be in the San Siro area.

“We are working together with Milan and are very optimistic on the new stadium project,” Inter general manager Alessandro Antonello told reporters.

“The meeting went very well and I think it’ll all end up just fine.”

The President of the local authority who attended the meeting, Lamberto Bertolè, confirmed “the clubs put forward their reasons for the project and their proposal. At the same time, the councillors had the opportunity to indicate the issues that are of interest to the council.

“In about a week, we will call the first commissions to present the project, go into the urban transport issues and discuss if it is in the public interest.

“As soon as that journey is concluded, we will progress to the next phase, but want everything to be done with the clear focus on the best interests of the city and its people.”
