Yeah but we were stacked with world class players everywhere on the bench. I doubt that Mourinho can succeed with this Inter and its ffp.

Good lord. Stick with Spalletti until 2020, bring Simeone in to make the jump to the big boys.

I trust Spalletti enough (regardless of the Vecino issue) to know that we’re looking at another 2 years of CL football with him, though that’s definitely his peak.

“It is only a matter of time” before Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone becomes Coach of Inter, said his sister and agent Natalia.

The Argentine spent a long period of his career in Italy, at Inter from 1996-99 and then another four years at Lazio.

“Diego said it too, sooner or later, he’ll end up at Inter,” Natalia Simeone told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I think it is only a matter of time. He loves the club, the atmosphere and living in Milan. Inter is a side he would really love to coach.

“I should point out that he is also still very fond of Lazio, too.”

Is that a recent interview? Because I’ve heard all of that a million times.

Yeah,he should leave all that what he made in Spain and just jump to a sinking ship here after Mazzarri/Mancini/De Boer/Pioli.

2017 was the perfect time for him to come but he probably thought our squad wasn't good enough plus we still had major ffp restricitons....now that the team is looking pretty good, at least on paper and the ffp restrictions seem to be fading away he's become interested again.

Tbh I'm not surprised I think Simeone, Conte and Mourinho would all jump at the chance to join us now if given the chance....its the perfect challenge for any of them to finally dethrone Rube and lets be honest if anyone's going to do it it will be us. Just all depends on if Suning is willing to take us to that next level

This Simeone rumour comes out every year, he's settled at Atletico and he's not leaving any time soon.

Plus, it's about time this club gets a bit of stability it's been a decade since we had a manager who lasted 3 seasons.

I thought the only reason he didn't come in 2017 was because he wanted to stay at least a season after Atletico's new stadium was opened. Remember he was offered a contract extension until 2022 and he only want to extend until 2020, which I think gives an indication of his future plans.

He'll win the Champions League this season. His last real chance imo. Only thing Atleti can hope for this year, their squad is good enough and should be motivated enough to win it at home.

If Spalletti fails to improve us from 4th spot and fails in Europe, I think it's an easy decision.

He can go to United to replace Jose and I dont care. Inter just wait too long and he is postponed the moves is killing the moment, he had good chances last years but once again he refuse the project. Now we start new project with Spalletti giving the coach a longterm contract after a while and Simeone only seeking his way out now. I wouldnt changing coach anytime soon Even if Spalletti only repeating same success like last year since this team need continuity especialy with this new squad who need a time to gellng before giving a result. And Yes thats FFP its good point, we need him badly when we are in dipshit and need someone like him to build a squad with minimum resources but ofc he refuse it because he know he cant do anything with the FFP restriction and now he only tease us when we almost completely be free from all of that bullshit.

Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone: “I Will Coach Inter One Day”

After the sister and agent of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone told Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport that it was only a matter of time before her brother would coach Inter, the man himself has confirmed it.

When asked about the statements made by his sister which caused quite an uproar in Italy the Atletico Madrid coach told TV station Cope that: “It is clear that the Italian journalists asked her this classic question. I have always said that one day I will coach Inter, I consider it an option. But Inter have a coach that is doing really well and I am experiencing an extra ordinary period here with Atletico. It will happen whenever it happens.”

In conclusion, the coach nicknamed El Cholo, was asked when he thinks this move could take place to which he replied: “There’s a lot of time left until 2020, it is two years left until then.”

I just want to lobby this, how appealing would a club to be managers (who actually want to work not get sacked and get their release fee) if the club they sign for just sacked their manager because someone who had a bit more of a reputation was available? Think about that for a second.

Let him win CL with Atletico, as Madrid steal 2 finals already buying the ref's and stuff.
