De Zerbi takes Brighton to historic European qualification
Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi has become a hero at Brighton and Hove Albion, taking the Premier League club into European football for the first time.
I know he has a big release clause in his contract and to be honest, for him it would not make too much sense to return to Italy, especially now that he is making a name for himself in the BPL.

There are not so many coaches that I rate above Inzaghi, but De Zerbi has huge potential. He beat Arsenal 3-0 while they were in the run for the title, while his days at Sassuolo are when they were playing their best football. The side needed a victory against Southampton this afternoon to make it stick and achieved it with a 3-1 result that guarantees seventh place and at least a Conference League spot, but probably sixth too, as they have a vastly better goal difference than Aston Villa and now cannot be caught by Tottenham.
De Zerbi, who turns 44 next month, made his name at Benevento and Sassuolo before a brief experience at Shakhtar Donetsk was cut short by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
He signed for Brighton on September 18, stepping in when Chelsea had poached Graham Potter, but took them from strength to strength.
In all competition under De Zerbi, they amassed 19 victories, six draws and 12 defeats, qualifying for Europe and reaching the FA Cup semi-final, losing to Manchester United only on penalties.
De Zerbi has been linked with numerous jobs back in Italy, including Inter, Roma, Juventus and Napoli, but he seems determined to remain at Brighton.
