Santon and Mario were factors when they were 18. Yes its probably 70% - 30% chance of him being an factor but consider how highly the management think of him it would be foolish to assume that he won't feature at all.

Also I find it highly unlikely that vasco will give him game time with just 6 months to go before he leaves if they haven't used him much in the first part of the season.

Fair enough. It's just that the difference with Mario and Santon was that they were used to calcio and they had been with the team, the same environment and all this stuff.

Maybe Coutinho is going to train with the first team and play with Primavera at first. If his skills and understanding of the game surpass the immaturity (hopefully so), Mourinho will take him to be a full-time first team member.

--------------------------------------------------------

Looking these videos from Coutinho, he really shows some vision and "footballing brains" or what it's called. Not some nice dribbling or shit like that. The vision is the most important thing for an offensive player like Coutinho (not pure forward). This is something which for example Quaresma lacks, no matter how skilled he is.

He will kill the Serie A if his mind is in the right place. He will definetely take time to adjust to our tactics, but anyone can see he is 'fluid' forward with the ball and has decent pace. Exactly what we lack.

First thing Coutinho will need to do once he comes in Italy is to build some kgs of muscles. He will get outmuscled 99% of the times by Italian midfielders who like to take the physical approach when it comes to technically gifted players of Coutinho's physique. Then we'll talk about him being chosen by Mourinho or by the Primavera. The same thing had happened with Kaka when he arrived in Italy. He was too light for this game, so Milan made him gain some muscle. Same did Del Piero back in 97.

If you're in the US and have the right broadband provider, the whole tournament is on ESPN 360. (So I hear, anyway. I don't have it and haven't seen any of it, either.)

When Coutinho comes to Italy Mourinho and Sneijder will teach him some off the ball movement. I have watched all of Brazil's games in the U17 WC and though Coutinho is usually very good when he has the ball, he is not doing a lot without it. When one of his teammates has the ball, he usually just stands or walks around when he could be moving into an open space or make a run so the guy with the ball gets some space.

Sneijder is very good at this and I expect him to teach Coutinho all about it.
I can understand that this might not be the first thing you want to do in training when you're a 17-year old wonderkid (especially not if you're Brazilian :P) but I really do think that it would improve his game a lot. Along with 10 kgs of muscles :D

You can bulk up and you can learn movements. You can't teach vision and this guy has that.

That's true :) that's why he is so good material to create a superstar :)

He is not just some circus dribbler like Kerlon.

Kerlon in 7 appearances has 2 goals already, so he's not a circus dribbler.

After one year spent in watching videos on youtube and listening to interviews in a language i didn't understand finally i had the opportunity to watch the kid for 3 matches this month and he didn't at all disapoint my hopes in him but it convinced me that he is a great talent but not ready yet to fullfill my hopes for next season golden ball with inter:D.
Anyway i saw that he had a great talent of course , great pass , great pace & great dribbling but on the other hand i noticed some bad or better not so great things on him .
He tends from time to time to diseppear from the match and this because he didn't have a good of ball movement that is a huge aspect in a playmaker role , also i was surprised by the way he used to miss great chances of scoring . Usually a player of his talent uses to place the ball in the corner or to confuse the keeper with body movement etc while he used to strike with strength only a few meters from the keeper and without succes so maybe he doesn't yet have the confidence in his values when it comes to scoring.
So probably he will need a year or maybe even two to become inter material but looking at his potential i can surely wait for him .

He is playing with ajax reserves until now so you must not be so enthusiastic for his 2 goals but anyway i'm sure that he is not a circus dribbler too because he has signed a contract until 2013 with inter this summer and this is not smth that happens to every one.....

Sure, he's not even 18 years old. We've just started to follow him so early that it feels he's not that good yet. As in reality there's nothing to be disappointed about. Player can grow five years from the age of 18 and still he can become world class. Every young talent can't be Balotelli, let alone Messi or Aguero. But as Coutinho will come to Inter at the age of 18, I think it takes couple of years (1-3) before he starts getting some serious playing time. And at that point he's 19-21. That's nothing, he would be still so young. :)
