Materazzi? I bet he won't go to Germany, unless there is a full-blown injury crisis. He is there because there aren't any good italian defenders with at least one major tournament experience. But I am sure Lippi will regret calling up Materazzi one day.

Lippi is weird, he should be giving those youngsters the chance to experience some play, instead of keeping them in the dark. Although his season hasn't been good - same goes for his team - Ferrari should be picked ahead of Materazzi. Also, Barzagli deserves a consideration because he'll be good for the future.

I don't understand Lippi's persistence with Materazzi, honestly. It's not because of Materazzi's performance with Inter, which has been decent in past years apart from several howlers this season, but it's the constant disappointing performance that he gave everytime he dons the Azzurri jersey. Matrix is not even half the player he is when he plays for Italy.

I definitely think that Materazzi will be in the squad for Germany but for what, I'll never know.

Materazzi should not be called up we have more then enough good CB's and defenders overall.

Clearly no room for Matrix. I think Lippi is afraid to trust the youngsters but why trust Materazzi?

wow Finland comes back to draw 3-3 with the Czechs...I am impressed,game is still going but congrats on such a display to our Finnish friends....

England toppled N.Ireland easily scoring 3 goals in the openiong minutes of the second half and adding another to end it mercifully 4-0...England look like their playing on all gears...Their team is gelling really well,i would like to see them against a bigger challenge.

FORZA ITALIA thats all i have to say the game about 30 min away from kick off and i cant wait to kick some Scottish A$$. The most important thing is to win but win with the same class and style the italian national team has been laking over the years .

I hope with Lippi we can regain that and Win something instead of always comming second, third, or not even passing to the next round.

That must have been a complete bomb for our members from Finland. So close to a fantastic result and it's just smashed. Tough... But you can be still be proud of the result.

Denmark had won a fantastic victory over Kazakstan today. 3-0. The atmosphere on the stands gave me nostalgic memories of Denmark - Sovjet 4-2 back in the 80's. We played a great match and we even played Italian style football instead of that flashy stuff we've had to put up with for years.

Icing on the cake was Peter Møller who has always done very well for us. He made his comeback today after being out for a couple of years on national level. He scored immediately and added a second later on. Thank you Møller!

Italy is leading too. I'm dissappointed they're showing France instead. I had hoped to be watching right now. 15 min to go now. If you fail now...
