That goal agaisnt Juve what a counter attack, just realized it started out from Mudingayi.

My fav Palacio goal was the one against Bologna in the Coppa, the one in the derby and the one against Pescara at home. Pretty sure I forgot some, he scored lots of nice goals.

There was also one in Europa League but i dont remember against which team it was. It was a nice volley, not easy to do!

Did someone notice that Guarin can make better crosses then Candreva? (the goal against milan)

Was it the chip against Cluj? That was probably my fave goal of his, I know a relatively unimportant match but it really sticks out to me for some reason.

That post hasn't exactly aged well, but I stand by what I said those 3 and a half years ago. He was that good, and gave his all for this club.

With that being said, he hasn't done anything to deserve the amount of playing time he's received for close to two years now. But it's the fault of our coaches, not himself. Instead, his last time at the club here should've been as a mentor for our young strikers in the locker room and especially on the training ground, cause' boy, does he know how to play football and play football smartly. I don't think I've ever seen an Inter striker move the way he did on the pitch, and do it with such efficiency.
It's been sad to see him turn into a disliked figure as of late, much like Cambiasso, just because his body hasn't been able to keep up and because our coaches have been so conservative in regards to playing younger players.

If someone like Pinamonti or Gabigol have been substituted on, I'd be glad to see him get a 5-minute cameo to send him off against Udinese.

Forza Don Rodrigo, and thank you for everything. That being a lot.

Totally agree with this post.

Maybe fans think professional teams work like FM when a team should consist of promising youngsters which then become treble winner in first season then the youngsters will turn into world beaters. Which is bullshit and nonsense. Performance on the game begins from training ground and dressing room and that's why model professional like Palacio (with Nagatomo and Handanovic) are still needed in the team. They can act as an extension of the coach who will guide the players to keep the player in check.

It is not their fault if coach still use Palacio. Do you expect him to refuse to play ? Do you expect them to talk to coach "Boss, just play this xxxx young players so they can improve" ???? Moreover, I don't think Gabi or Pinamonti is better than Palacio so I totally understand that our coaches keep playing him.

I feel bad for Palacio as he is not well received by Interisti in this past 2-3 years. I still remember how he carried the entire team for 2 seasons with players much worse than current squad. Respecting him does not mean justifying everything he does, but not blaming him for something out of his control. It is his bad luck that he failed to achieve notable trophy during his career in Inter, but he always gives 100 % whenever he plays regardless of the shitshow in management room. And that, my friend, is something incredible and that is what most Inter players lack.

Favourite goal of his will always be the one in the Milan Derby. I remember it so clearly because the game had ending and everyone here was celebrating and my stream had yet to show the goal. Good times

Regarding Palacio's career at this club, I said it in a previous post in some other thread and I'll reiterate it here.

Palacio joined the team in the 2012/13 season, and had a good year and a half. In this 18 month period he scored the majority of his 40 goals for the club. Towards the end of 2013 he started looking off-form, and from the start of 2014 to the present day, has been largely rubbish. That's a strong 18 month start to a 5 year career, meaning that 70% of his Inter career has been very forgettable, to put it politely.

For sure, his 'peak' coincided with a bad period the club. He seems like a nice dude and we associate him with the old Argentine clique of Samuel, Zanetti, Cambiasso, Milito. I think a lot of fans are too sympathetic for this reason though. I don't see him as someone exemplary and I don't care about his movement and work rate. You know who else had brilliant off-the-ball movement? Osvaldo. Both Milito and Eto'o put in the same grind and how many times have we seen Perisic saving Ansaldi's ass. His movement was really good, not fucking amazing. If Perisic were to leave this transfer window, I'd have better memories of Perisic than Palacio - even though he would have only been here 2 years, was hardly an 'interista' and also achieved little. I have better memories of Kovacic than Palacio - again, even though Kovacic never realised his potential here and won nothing.

Watching those goals reminds me that Nagatomo looked competent before.

As for Palacio, thanks for the effort.

It's officially his last match for us. Thank you for being here during our dark era and playing well (not including last few years)

No matter what he does or where he goes, I'll still will hold him to the rat tail promise.
It's fine that he's leaving. End of the cycle, not like a certain Japanese for life.
He was good during his first and a half season and helped a lot. Age gets everyone and the only good thing he could contribute if he were to stay was basically off the ball movement and creating spaces, along with master slow down and win fouls when he'd get introduced end game to hold a lead.

Thanks Palacio. I wish you well.

Good luck, wish he arrived younger. Will never forget his first seasons with us.

Actually, no, I wish I can forget those miserable times :yao2:
