My guess is this: he's simply so tone-deaf he doesn't understand the implications of giving his agent (the lawyer) permission to speak to other clubs which might include Juve. Agent is looking for more money of course as at Inter the salary would even go down. And this lawyer doesn't seem to be too savvy with the football world and Italy so speaking and negotiating with Juve against Inter wasn't a big deal for him.

And these guys maybe thought it would stay as a secret they had agreement with Juve?

Lots of guesswork to make some sense out of this. I don't really think Lukaku is truly BAD person, I think he's just so fucking selfish and most of all, tone-deaf.
I don`t have any proof evidently, but I think also at another possibilty. Chelsea didn`t want to sell to us. In this story Chelsea was the mega clown. I don`t know, but I don`t remember such a scenery between Lukaku and Chelsea.
They bought him for 115m, even with his history in PL. I believe was their most expensive transfer at that time. After a few months he started to make waves how he want to go back to Inter and all the tantrums. Last summer, he more or less blackmailed them to loan him back to Inter. Romelu literally boxed his way here.
Effectively Chelsea loan him from us for more than 100m for one year. I can sense their rage and frustration. Someone posted some randoms thoughts from Chelsea fans, how Inter and Lukaku should be investigated, because everything was a scam.

Inter is the one place in his career where he had that. Where the fanbase (at least a large part of it) had his back and supported him. Where the club, coach and teammates were willing to forgive him for letting them down on the biggest stage, and invest considerable money for him. And this is what he does?

Why? For a few extra million at juve? Money he was willing to give up as recently as a week ago? Because he's upset he didn't start the CL final?

This. As for the last part, thats complete and utter bullshit. No sane person would believe that after pushing so hard to leave Chelsea for Inter and turning down whatever other offers he had he just does a 180 and fucks off to Dopentus.
So if we take a second and just think of a logical scenario and he really does end up at Dopentus. I would say he played both sides but Dopentus could not offer him anything concrete untill they were sure of selling Vlahovic.
We FINALLY found common ground with Chelsea and he stops answering phone calls all of the sudden ? LOLWUT
Then the whole "I WUZ MAD AT INZUGHI FOR NOT STARTING ME, NAAAAAH IM OUT".
It was either a really well tought out plan to fuck with us and he was already negociating to join that shit team or he is missing a screw. By how things played out id wager in the first scenario.
FUCK THAT GUY and move on id say. If he remains in Serie A it will be a blast next time we meet.

You guys overthink too much about what happens inside a footballer player's head. Specially someone who has a history of making a clown out of himself.
This exactly lol, I'm not a bit surprised tbh as I never for once believed his whole I'm an interista bullshit. My good friend is a filty man utd fan. He thanked Inter for buying Lukkau but he had warned me not to get attached because this is the kind of shit he pulls.

If he was chasing money, why did he reject the $30 million offer from Saudi Arabia?

Don't have one.

He is chasing money, but at the same time he wants to prove himself in europe and stay relevant in that context.

I think he is constantly trying to chase that high he had in that season we won scuddetto, that type of role. But the problem is, at the slightest sign of trouble and competition he bails. Probably some kind of ego defense mechanism.

So chelsea is desperate to offload him but prefers not to sell him to us who gave them a concrete offer?

This is what is most confusing to me.

Guy is hated by every club he played for (plus his own country). Among the neutrals, he's one of the biggest memes and most ridiculed players in world football. He is notoriously mentally fragile and needs to be coddled, constantly told he's the man and made to feel loved and appreciated.

I'm simultaneously ecstatic that we're not signing him yet bewildered by his behaviour. For someone as weak and needy as him, a stable and supportive environment should be his highest priority.

Post of the year!

There's nothing to make a noise about until Vlahovic gets sold to PSG.

At first i thought it's about money too. It's a contributing factor but not the main reason. It's about playing time. It was first mentioned by @vex and @Gaindé andd i think they're right. The guy is so insecure that he shits his pants at the idea of getting benched. He wants to be an undisputed starter at a club else he wants out. Conte realised he had to pamper him in order to get the best out of him. So he started him in almost every match in order to boost his fragile ego. He made him feel important, a leader, centre of his project. And he delivered.

Just a look at his past will confirm that the guy is scared of getting benched.

At Man Utd, he officially announced to the world in May 2019 he wants to leave after a season of Ole benching him mostly.

At Chelsea, he gave that interview after Tuchel benching him for few games that followed his return from injury. Environment wasn't toxic for him yet. It was December, just 4 months since he joined.

At his second stint at Inter, he spent most of the season getting benched by Dzeko. Dzeko may be gone but now there's Thuram. Lukaku is terrified at the possibility of another season at the bench. That's why he offered himself to Milan and Juventus who could offer him a starting spot.

He kept Inter's option open but only as a backup plan.

So, this guy is really going to Jube?! 3 years contract, 8mln net and 40mln for Chelsea. Not a bad deal actually for rube. Fuck him. I cannot believe that I defended him here, and I gave him as an example, how he was ready to reduce his salary in order to stay!
Move the thread to Flamers Paradise asap. He doesn't even deserve to be a former player.

Don`t forget there was also an incident with Koulibaly a few years back. We played one game with empty stadium and one game with kids in the stadium (in was an atmosphere like Justin Bieber concerts).

So, we won`t be called racists for the first time.

It's a bad deal nonetheless. He has no resale value.

He'll probably score them some goals, most likely against us because of obvious reasons. But he is and remains a fragile man baby. If you don't spoon-feed him, he'll turn his back on the coach + team.

I'm glad we're not getting him. We don't need a spoiled striker whose mentality is as fragile as a teenage girl with daddy issues.

Move on, fuck him and get a new striker.

It's only 3 years. If he is fit and in the shape, he can deliver goals enough for the scudetto this season. Remember, that Jube will have a only one game per week. After that, they can keep him for one more season and ship his as off to Saudis.
Anyway, it seems that Jube don't have that cohesiveness in their locker room as Inter's. He will be a lone striker there most probably, and without mental support, he may flop there. This is the best scenario for us.
