We actually overrate our players when some rumor emerge. People here thought that Icardi was 100mln+ player and that we had to sell Perisic for not less than 70mln after the WC. 110mln are fair price for Lukaku in my eyes.
Specific number is hard to say. We have to think this way: the money for Lukaku should be enough to buy an equally great striker AND profit, as Lukaku is in the top of his form and we don't have reason to sell.

Then the next question: who will bring the goals & buildup play as much? Difficult to find. Dortmund is asking...180m for Haaland, Spurs maybe 150m for Kane, and who else?!? If we can't find cheaper replacement then don't sell it's simple.

the problem is age and potential. Havertz is really really young, scored 20 and 18 goals in two seasons aged 20 and 21? that's something special, even if he's struggled at Chelsea.

Lukaku hsa maybe 4 years more at the top? Let's just say?

Realistically 80-100m for him in this environment is achievable, because COVID will dampen his price a bit anad his salary isnt all that cheap anyway (in UK figures he's a £300k a week salary).

That being said, from Inter's perspective, aside from financial reasons, there's no reason for us to sell him. There's no reason for him to move. So I dont see why he'd go

I was thinking two of Milik/Belotti/Benzema. The former two lack the consistency Kaku brings while the latter is wrapping up his career. So two would be needed to rotate accordingly. Easier to just keep Kaku another year though, obviously.

It's insane how there's such a scarcity of strikers. Used to be a time when there was 5 world class strikers in Serie A alone (Shevchenko, Crespo, Vieri, Batistuta, Trezeguet). Now we have Morata, Zapata, Leao, Mayoral smh.

Toro, Kaku and Immobile are world class strikers? Rest are past their prime. The fact that CR7 at 36 years old is the top goal scorer in serie a goes to show quality strikers in world football are a dying breed.

Note in my list I didn't even include Inzaghi or Del Piero (could add DiVaio and Montella, special players but not world class).

I guess because there's more emphasis on work rate and systems in the modern game.

I odnt think Toro, Kaku or Immobile are world class strikers. I definitely think Lukaku and Lautaro have the potential to get there, but they need to be performing more consistently and at a higher level in the big matches to get there.

They'll dod it, esp under Conte. I have no doubt about that.

Lukaku becomes only the 7th player in the club’s history to score at least 20 league goals in 2 consecutive seasons and the first since Vieri

Do you mean his first consecutive seasons? Because Icardi scored more than 20 two seasons in a row as well.

According to serie a Lukaku has only 6 assist this season while some sites report 8 assist and other 7 assist. Does anybody know why? I can agree on 7 assist since the assist to Sanchez against Parma is hard to see but meh fuck serie a

Didnt dybala win it last time?

Dybala was Serie A Player of the Season 2019/20 of the league itself, Ronaldo 2018/19.

Ronaldo was Serie A Footballer of the Year of the Italian Footballers' Association (AIC) in 2019 and 2020.

Icardi was Inter's last Serie A Footballer of the Year 2018, the award for the Serie A Player of the Season is kinda new and Ronaldo was the first one who received it.
