If it's legit, take the fucking 130 mil and run

We made this same mistake with Adriano.

Heck, Chelsea have a few too many forwards as it is, take 70 mil and Kai Havertz and call it a day.

If you put aside the problem about having to find replacement to Lukaku now then I would definately sell him for 130 million.

I believe there will be good strikers at the market every year. And also I am afraid Inter will have problems with Lukaku once he gets older (wages, transfer fee).

Hakimi was the player Inter should have not sold because you cannot find those good wingbacks on the market. But also I understand that Inter will win and die with Lukaku. Great strikers win you many games.

There are some things to consider after Pedulla report about Lukaku and Chelsea.

  • Pedulla claims both Inter and Lukaku rejected the offer. The real question is what Lukaku wants. Is he open to leaving Inter or he wants to stay regardless of any offers? If he doesn't want to leave then perhaps it would be unwise to try and force him out. We know Lukaku is a confidence player. He needs to feel trust from the whole organisation to perform. If you try to force him out and he ends up staying then it could affect his performance.
  • What exactly was Chelsea's offer? If they offered 130m cash, then you take the money and run. He's 28 years old and he will never be as good as he was under Conte. The offer would be too good to refuse even if we didn't have any financial problems. But if they offered 60-70m plus Werner, then the offer isn't good enough. Werner is coming from such a poor season that he has become a meme for his misses and his style is too similar to Lautaro. I don't think they would work well together. If they offered Havertz, Jorginho or Reece James instead then the deal would be more enticing.
  • From a sporting aspect, selling Lukaku would be a risk. I don't see any great options available who would guarantee Lukaku would be properly replaced. We obviously aren't getting Lewandowski or Haaland. Our realistic targets would be Belotti, Vlahovic, Zapata or a promising player from another league who has yet to prove himself at the top level. All of them would be gambles for different reasons. We have already lost Hakimi and Eriksen from last season starters and there's a chance we could also lose Perisic. We would have to start the season with 4 new starters. That's almost half of the outfield starting lineup. The players and coach would need a transition period and that could be costly if we still want to fight for the Scudetto.
Prior selling Hakimi i would definitely be in favor of selling Lukaku. But now that Hakimi is gone i would be against selling Lukaku unless the offer is too good to refuse.

130M cash is too good to be true. But it's very late in the transfer window for us to find a good replacement, we are the only club on Nandez, we have 3 players that coul interess Cagliari and we are struggling to close the deal, imagine when everybody and their dog is aware that we have 130M in the bank.

You have to take into account the salary difference as well. 130m + (8.5m net - salary of his replacement)*2 is huge. That's Lukaku's peak value no doubt.

If I were Marotta I would negotiate Werner price down, take that offer and run. That cash + salary is enough to buy Vlahovic, if you don't see Werner alone is safe enough, Kostic (25m), and cover for Nandez cost. Too good to refuse.

To be honest, I'd sell anyone for 130 million from this squad.

Yep, if that's the money on the table, take it and run. We will never get that money if we skip this transfer window.

Despite everything Lukaku did the past 2 years if Chelsea made some offer like that I would take the money and run. It would solve all our financial problems. Vlahovic would be a very good replacement for him. I guess without Conte our attacking part will not be totally focused on Lukaku and with Vlahovic and Lautaro we would be good enough(at least on paper).

We probably run the sales with the process of asking player's agent what is the plan, are they up for a sale if a good offer arrives etc and everything during the summer has pointed to the direction of Lukaku wanting to stay at Inter.

Honestly Lukaku would be terrific at the current Chelsea, he would score so many goals.

Yeah. I have to admit, Lukaku has probably, a last chance to up his game to a new level (the one that he now thinks he's on, but I disagree) working with Tuchel, rather than with Inzaghi.

He always chokes in big games, we should sell him instead Hakimi, he'll be worse and worse after Conte exit.
Very curious to see about this, as Conte did know which buttons to push.
He's 28 years old and he will never be as good as he was under Conte.
That`s kind of pessimistic, don`t you think? I mean he is in his prime years, could further improve. Hopefully he will remember all those lessons even without Conte yelling at him, I mean he should have matured by now.

If we manage to keep hold of both Lukaku and Martinez (that seems to be the plan), it makes sense to go ahead with this partnership. Selling any of these 2 would be a mistake IMO, as they have real chemistry. Hope Hakimi was not sacrificed in vain!

I think this offer came after the Hakimi transfer right?
if it came after the hakimi transfer then i would reject it too.. Lukaku is our most important player and you don't get someone better with 130M at the moment. If it was before Hakimi then it would be a diffrent story maybe. But we would probably get someone like Belotti then (for 40-50M) to replace Lukaku, so still a big problem.

exactly, "on paper". Everything else is to see. Vhlao could be the next big thing or also the next Piatek. I would not do that honestly. There are not much good strikers as (or better) then Lukaku at the moment

Inzaghi's done great work with Immobile, it's not impossible he could improve Lukaku further.

Also, I think Vlahovic would be a big gamble. Seen too many of these young strikers get hype after one great season.
