21 Million? WTF?!?!?! No way he should have been this cheap for that Russian club. Fuck this :palm: And I'm confused as to why this is in the former players section... when the poll is voted the other way.

Not the only reason, but the main. That's how it all started. Unless the Barca fans are lying, reading their forums/blogs after the eto/Ibra swap, i learned that.

Not the main reason either Pajo!! Common u guys want to use what ever to vilify a man who gave us so much! WTF?!?!? U started with he asked for more from Inter, that was proven wrong, then u said he jumped on a big contract: all evidence suggest he would have stayed but Inter wanted him out...

SE SALTELLI....
Sadly, this is the way the "experts" of the forum have taken to this deal...excuses are going around like a roll of toilet paper. Let's see what they say come seasons end.MM said we are selling eto'o to recoup money. Samu said that he would only leave inter if MM said so...but these ppl are still trying to push the blame on samu? MM clearly stated that samu DIDN'T ask for a pay increase. He has no part in this transfer besides agreeing personal terms with Anzhi.TSK TSK!What happened to the 40 mill we would receive, or the superstars we would get in return? I said it before and I'll say it again...WE SETTLED ON SELLING SAMUEL ETO'O!This time I think the "experts" will think again about trying to bash this statement.

So now GdS also reports that BBC story of 21m€ transfer fee.

http://translate.google.com/transla...w.fcinter1908.it/?action=read&idnotizia=31429

They also say that with bonuses it could rise to 27m€.

Oh christ what a failure. :palm:

black, who are these experts you are talking about? I don't remember reading any posts recently who has put a blame on Eto'o?

So what were those lenghty negotiations about and how the two teams still couldnt reach a price? Does this mean that Anzhi offered even less than 20m with their first offer? If this value is true and if it is a compromise between the two clubs I wonder how much Inter asked for him to beginwith...

I honestly dont think it was wise for Moratti to do that interview and reveal Inter's financial troubles. It gave Anzhi the upper hand when it came down to negotiations...

Also it's kinda weird how Etoo agreed personal terms so quickly even when his salary wasnt that much of a raise compared to what he was earning at Inter. Does anyone else think that Moratti may have asked Etoo to take a paycut before the Anzhi deal came along?

With Eto gone :( Who will take the number 9 ???

It sure as hell better not be Forlan :palm:

One thing i don't like is when a player undeservedly wears a 'prestigious' number !

Countless number of ppl have all put his head on the chopping board since the very first day of this transfer debacle. Weather it was slandering him saying he was money hungry, or that he was a mercenary, or that he initiated the transfer as he asked for a pay rise. There were also many ppl who tried the same BS with me when I posted that our club was to blame for releasing Eto'o, and that we settled for selling him, as we couldn't get rid of our deadwieght.I don't need to name names...there is no need for that, but they should know who they are.

I don't understand this either. There were widely rumors about 22m€ offer which was rejected and Branca demanded 30m€. How did it come up to this that we get only 21m€ secured money and then perhaps +6m€ bonuses (if that GdS bonus speculation is even true) ? Fail, fail, fail I say.

Bolded part is important. Things change quickly in the transfer market, so changes the views and opinions (because they are based on the things which change quickly). I don't think anyone is blaming Eto'o at this moment when Moratti has clearly said Eto'o didn't ask anything and it's totally clear to everyone that the sale is for balancing the books (dumping the salary to be specific).

What we have done here is thrown away THE BEST STRIKER IN WORLD FOOTBALL atm for a price that can hardly get you half a decent player in today's market. In the future when we look up the term "FUCK UPS" in the dictionary, it will explain it by using this whole Eto'o scenario as an example!

Moratti pulled the plug on the club. He achieved his objective in CL win and now the club is on its own. You may deny it but its there for everybody to see. The Eto deal is just a start of whats coming.

As for Branca the magician he can thank Mourinho for his current reputation.

So sad and disgusting really :palm:

you can't even get a quality "youngster" for tht money
smiley-laughing013.gif

Just because we got him for free doesn't mean we give him away for free :wallbang2:

FFS! if they can't sell pandev or muntari since they're so useless no sane club would want to pay for them then give them away for free fuck 'em....sell chivu for even 3-4M seriously...those 3 + mariga out then we wouldn't have to sell eto'o to balance the books Jesus Christ :palm:

What pissing me off is we sell this legend for less than 30M because his wages are "too high" all of a sudden:

yet we keep those useless fucks like pandev and chivu who earn 3.5M EACH!!! and Muntari who earns 2M!!!

Fuck!!!

 - this is about the only worthy response to this being 21 million. I thought it was bad enough at 25, or even 27... But 21 is just a huge joke. So in these terms Eto'o is worth half of Pastore, less than Lavezzi, less than the majority of the numbers being thrown around for all the under 20 year old Brazilian "superstars"

Meh.

If we had made ourself perfectly clear that Eto'o was not for sale or that he could only leave for a very high price, we'd have sold him for 30mils at least. Instead MM described the Anzhi offer as "valuable and intelligent" publicly (inter.it) and right in the moment when nothing was agreed. That's when we already lost this whole Eto'o poker. So now the numbers are going down from 30mils to 27mils to 21mils and then he costs as much as he earns in a year.

FFs this is reminding me of the post-1998 Jerry Kraus/Chicago Bulls thing

---------- Post added at 10:56 ---------- Previous post was at 10:44 ----------

Whether it's 21mil or 27mil doesn't make much of a difference.
6 million difference are indeed not much of a difference if you take into consideration that it's the same difference of Eto'o's price and PSG's demanded price for Milito.............

holy shit man you're right forgot about tht!!! or when they announced Eto'o will be leaving for Anzhi no matter what!!!

This is the same MM who refused to give in to RM's 25M offer for Maicon last summer I still can't believe he would sell eto'o for less than at least 35M

Its as if he was so desperate to get rid of eto'o and the russians were a blessing from heaven...he gave eto'o away so cheaply...

Wait a minute

if this has anything to do with MM's "dream" to hire Pep next summer I swear to god....
