Croatia mostly played awful football, except against Canada, leading up to this game. A shame for Brozo and Modric at this will probably be their last WC playing at a high level but Argentina deserves it. They’ve steadily improved since the Saudi Arabia hiccup.

You cant beat this Brazil if you play awful. After that disgrace of penalty whole team was in complete meltdown. And Argentinians were simply too good not to take advantage of that. Like I said, this result is a fkn miracle when you play whole tournament without decent striker. The worst thing is that fkn fraud Dalić will stay as coach.

In the end i'm not sad, they were better and deserved to win, we were just not good enough. Even tho before the tournament i wrote we had stronger squad then 2018 it was obvious we miss proper number 9, and i thought best we can do is go to qurtaterfinals. I hope we can win another medal on saturday and i'll be happy, we still have NL in april, i believe for Modric, Lovren, Perisic, Vida that will be last games for our NT. Greatest generation of Croatian football. I'm not afraid for the future coz we have bunch of youngsters that can fill their shoes, some of them should have already be in NT (Drena Beljo esp.)

you have a better defense and Livakovic also looked prettty damn good this tournament, but everything else not that good compared to 18. Rakitič, who was the best Croatian player in 2018 is greatly missed. Kova is not on his level, cause even when he dribbles past 2 or 3 guys he still somehow fucks up at the end and does not create enough chances as he should. Perisic and Modric were also bettter in 18 and Mandzukic was a real attacker. The good thing is that in these 4 years you guys have actually produced some nice players that will be helpful in the future. The only real problem will be those attacking spots.

Well imo Brazil is stronger than Argentina, plus they play more fluid football. They had way more chances than Argentina vs Croatia, yet they realized just 1.Keeper and defense was on another level this tournament, excluding semi finals where they made amateur mistakes. Messi and Alvarez are monsters, punished them for every tiny error they made. It's just the way it is.

That penalty was a game-changer though. Sometimes, these episodes can destroy team's mental state. To me, it wasn't even a penalty in the first place. You just cannot give away these kind of naive penalties when there is a crucial match. Croatia couldn't bounce back after that.

As a team in overall, Croatia failed big time, but before that moment of penalty, they played well and had the game under control IMO.

This. That penalty crushed them. It was disgracefull decision by gobbo. No fkn way that was a penalty. Same thing happened against Poland. They just want Messi to win it. After that penalty there was no coming back, not with totally squeezed Modrić and Brozović. Whole team mentality collapsed. Same thing happened in final 2018 after another shamefull penalty. They just turned off and disappeared. Even Gvardiol who was a monster whole tournament turned into fkn Ranochia. I wouldnt mind if we lost and put up a good fight but losing 3 0 kinda sucks. If Dalić is clever(dont wanna go there) he should field atleast 4 new players against Morrocco cause core of this team is physicaly and mentally in terrible shape right now.
