I think we should stop doing business with clubs like Sassuolo. It's a waste of time. Let them be vassals for Juve.

We could easily reinforce with players from abroad. We get Dumfries for 12 mln euro, he would cost 30 mln if he was Sassuolo or Torino player. Milan built they team cheaply on players from abroad. Italian league sucks, there is no point of getting players from here.

I wouldn't use Dumfries as an example to be honest. He is very limited and that shows alot of times and we should definitely try and sign a better RWB if funds are available.

If we had a clinical striker, no1 will be talking about Milan right now. Only reason we're not champions yet is because we've got 2 strikers who missed 10+ clear cut chances each.

he is limited, but the alternatives were Nandez for 30 mln euro or Lazzari for 25 mln euro. I think Dumfries is better and cheaper.

Yeah our funds are limited and we need to use them elsewhere a lot before we go back to finding new, better RWB. That position is not so critical that we would have to improve it by allocating meaningful resources to that operation.

I agree. Like i have said in the past, shopping from Serie A is a lazy and kinda safe choice since the player is "Serie A proven". In reality, there are Serie A players who are worth it and others who are as much of a gamble as shopping from abroad. And that's where proper scouting needs to play a significant role.

Italian clubs prefer shopping from Italy because they can add counterparts while teams from abroad only want cash. But this is a double edged sword. If the transfer works out, it basically looks like a bargain. But if it doesn't you're stuck with a player whose book value is a lot higher than his actual value and there's basically no market for the player.

There's a lot of levels between a bargain and a bust.

The main issue clubs in Italy do this is there is not enough cash. Clubs abroad want cash which Italian clubs do not have.

the problem is that we were unable to include counterparts in our deals in recent years. Correa, Barella, Sensi, Gosens. No counterparts at all. Juve also was unable to include counterparts in Locatelli, Chiesa or Vlahović deals. The clubs seem to be more reluctant in accepting counterparts.

Yeah. My post was too much black and white. He could also end up a Gagliardini type of signing who had cost us around 30m. Sure he wasn't a Mario or Gabigol level of flop but we can't really say it was money well spent.

But instead of the counterparts you're getting them on loan with option to buy etc.

You still can't do that with clubs from abroad.

I was reading an article that Lyon will be overhauling there squad this would be a perfect opportunity to find a bargain as you said.
Abroad should be the first option, Serie A second for young talent e.g Barella/Chiesa's of the world.

Right now the Ricci's/Frattesi/Scamacca

Juve offered McKennie in a swap deal with Zaniolo but Roma are only aksing for 70m cash. Inter have kept 15% of Zaniolo's future sale.

Juventus are also linked with Jonathan David as Dybala replacement.

It`s not just about 1+1=2. We all know that Italians are overrated on the market, just like the Englishmen.

On top of what Il Drago wrote, I would add:

Marotta wants to create the foundation of the Italian NT and then have the sympathy of more people in the country you are trying to win in (neutrals, refs?). Perhaps this could lead to gathering new fans on the long run.

Italians also don`t seek living in other countries, so you can build long term and create squad harmony. You know those players will be truly proud to represent the club and fight for the shirt. Lukaku is the most recent counter-example: he jumped the gun at first sight.

Our transfers financing will probably continue being based on player sales so signing Italians who do not want to move elsewhere doesn't sound like a good idea.

AC Milan’s owners have made a large sum of money available for the summer transfer window as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara carefully plan their additions.

According to what La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) are reporting, Milan’s owners Elliott Management are ready to invest €100m in the summer mercato with the aim to strengthen each department of the squad to increase the level of quality.

The first two names on the wish list are currently at the same club in Sven Botman and Renato Sanches of Lille. Milan have had contacts for some time with the former who would like to join having declined offers from the Premier League and would replace Alessio Romagnoli, while for the latter work must still be done with his agent Jorge Mendes to find an agreement on terms.

Looking at the attack, Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo is the man that Maldini and Massara want. Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems to be oriented towards retiring at the end of the season, so the young Italian would therefore be a substitute with potential to grow alongside Olivier Giroud.

Then there are two Belgians in the club’s sights in Divock Origi of Liverpool and Charles De Ketelaere of Club Brugge.

Maldini is moving smart imo, signing young talents and taking full advantage of the tax rule.
