Many people credit Inzaghi for our CL run, but forget that the vast majority of contributions are coming from players who were key under Conte and gathered years of CL experience. They have been slacking in the league and this is where Inzaghi's ability to manage should have come in handy, but he failed in that regard.

If you want some comparison, look at Barca, they weren't able to qualify from group stages for what, 2 years? Their team is also under construction and Xavi's work is giving fruits now that they are close to winning the laliga. Guess what, they will be a strong favorites next season if they continue their project with Xavi. And if somehow Barca decides to sack Xavi and hire let's say Valverde who will then reach the CL semis, would you not think that the success partly belong to Xavi?
Are you saying that we should give credit to Conte for reaching semifinal of CL??Are you fucking serious?

Inzaghi deserves full credit for the CL run, despite our easy draws in the knockout rounds. Let's not forget how we always shat our pants in Europe with everyone other than Mourinho in the past 20 years. If we want to speak about recent times, Spaletti and Conte fucked up against much weaker teams than Porto and Benfica.

Our season has been affected by so many things we can't just put the blame on Inzaghi for the poor results. Start of the season was ruined by so many things (Lukaku, Brozovic, Skriniar).

We made ourselves back into the game by beating Napoli. But then shit started to happen (in 2023). Inzaghi didn't change anything in our game because we kept dominating in most of the matches. Our players just refused to score goals. It wasn't like we hit a stone wall like happened with Spalletti (and earlier with other coaches who first got some good results). With Inzaghi, we've always been generating chances. The lack of scoring cannot be attributed to Inzaghi in 2023, he can't come to the pitch and put the ball to the net.

I'm fine changing him if we can find a good replacement ie. probably start a new project. But that will happen only if we drop out of CL. Since then we have to make money by big sales and some of our core will be gone.

If Inzaghi makes it to top4, I simply do not see us changing him unless he resigns by himself and the club accepts it (meaning we have a replacement ready).

Of course.
Or are you telling me that if we hired Inzaghi after Spalletti, we would have been reaching CL semifinals every year?

So Conte who couldn't improve our CL performance in his second year somehow gets a credit for Inzaghi's "success" in CL? Talk about reaching.

Inzaghi has been shit in the league, no doubt, there's no sugar coating it but what he's done in CL this season has been miraculous given that you, myself and 90% of the football population wrote off Inter after that draw with Barca and Munich. All odds were against inter vs benfica, yet we were able to walk past Benfica quite easily. Credit when credit is due.

Well, he would definitely deserve another chance if he secured us a CL final, a CL spot for next year, and a Coppa as the cherry on top!

When Spaletti was here, he was sacked despite securing top4, but that's because Marotta wanted to bring in Conte to win the league and Suning could spend money.

Now that Suning can't spend, if Inzaghi can secure top4 he'll stay even if he gets eliminated vs Milan and loses the Coppa final, cause we won't have Scudetto aspirations next year. The squad will be downgraded even further than now, and Limone brought a lot of money to the club this year. He is perfect in Zhang's and Marotta's minds for the job.

I dont know, to be honest. For me, its less about specific names, more about trying to understand what each manager's vision is, what transfers/support they need to achieve that, and then deciding if we buy into those plans or not and are capable of executing them.
I thought you knew our finances better than anyone here.. do you actually think the Scudetto winning team that Inzhagi took over that has slowly been taken apart bit by bit and replaced with free transfers is his vision?

Or some new coach is going to make Suning spend?

The fact that they even gave money to Conte to leave because he was demanding, that's says everything.

No, but thats kind of my point - there's a budget to execute against, what does a oach think they can do with that budget, and do our directors believe that that execution is going to be achieved

If there's 20mil, Inzaghi might say 3rd choice LB, a different coach might suggest some young ball playing CB to go straight into the starting line up, etc etc.

What I do know is we cant have a repeat of this season, domestically, next year - so we need to work out if Inzaghi is the right guy for us to go forward with or not, and that comes down to whether we believe his plan to avoid the problem is achievable or not.

Conte had an impact of constructing this Inter, but he is not related to our CL run at all.
yes he had been a role to construct endless financial burden to inter actually by his 500 m spending spree!

But on the other hand if he brings us to that 4th place, this season would have been huuuuge financially for us wether or not we make the CL final would not even really matter that much.
Yet your already here screaming for his head looking at him as a failure. Also your arguing with our finances against him but again ignore that financially this will be our best year in forever thanks to Inzaghis CL run.
Also what a shitty example of inzaghi asking for a 3rd choice LB while another coach would ask for a starting CB on the same budget common now...
There is no indication of inzaghi doing anything like that...

Yes if we miss out on CL he ll probably has to leave but to scream for a coaches head when he already has the financially most successful season in forever for us and when he even has the chance to make it the best season sporting wise since the fucken trebble then maybe lets not talk about firing him before he fucks that up?

Edit: ofcourse if he lost the team than all this talk is usless and he ll have to go either way but i see very little indication of that.

This is an utter garbage statement, which was already widely commented in Conte's thread.
