Cause elves and dwarfes are races,they are not black in that mythology, would you mind if they make movie or series about black slaves being humiliated and white actors being in roles of black slaves and black being in roles of their owners ? I'm glad Idris Elba playing Heimdall didn't ruin the experience of those Marvel movies. I'm sure his inclusion was of merit and not some sort of SJW propaganda, but even if it was, it never really bothered me.

Now ofc I do agree that not all casting decisions could be justified without remarking on wokeness and inclusivity, but it's high time for people to let it go. It's good acting and good script where, for me, the biggest differences are made in how much lenient I am on such matters. The videogame TLOU2 is full of LGBTQ characters, because they wanted the LGBTQ community to have some fair representation and it didn't hurt the storytelling one bit. Imagine being not white and not straight, but still you can't get a major role in fantasy setting if you're not evil or having your appearances masked.

Even artists want a fair chance at role selection. The western world is sooo white and some people want to help bridge some gaps in a fully racist world. You'll survive a black elf if the LOTR series is good. If it won't, fuck it, wokeness won't be the biggest reason why the show isn't good (which I fully believe already looks bad)

It's about suspension of disbelief. The LOTR movies not having characters of other race than white didn't help. If you're used of one thing it's hard to embrace change.... I guess I understand that.

But it's time to just let it go. In the long run you can always show your disapproval or support with your wallet. And there are always other shows that try to be more..realistic, like Vikings. But like vasillios said, it's a fantasy series, here it should matter less.

Where were these dwarfes living before they went into the mines? In the mythology of elves, do they only have white colored animals too? If not, how did they develop other colors? Did a witch cast a coloring spell on them? Do all elves have white hair? Can elves develop Melanism?? Do they have deserts in elven world?

I have so many questions.

If new movies and series are quality to you than I am definitely out of this discussion. Utter crap. Look just this year movies nominated for oscars. Hillarious. Power of dog? Dogshit movie. But you have lgbt character there so expect some oscars there, doesn't matter that movie is dull and boring. Brokeback mountain was cinematic masterpiece compared to this crap. It had story, top acting and directing. Dont worry you'll see how good will be this lotr series. It will be crap. Galadriel in this abomination is warrior like Brienne Tarth? Roflmao! Hair depended on their sub-races. Some had golden, others had brown, others had silver.
