I started supporting Inter in 1987, age 9. As most of you know, Inter can be a passion, almost an obsession. I lived in Italy, near Milan, until I was 23. I have clear memories of going to school the day after an embarrassing defeat, or after Milan or Juventus had won another major trophy, getting teased by their fans, arguing with them, defending my team.

I remember moving to England and managing to connect with Inter fans through the forums. The worry before big games, especially against Milan and Juve, the almost physical sickness caused by it. The disappointments, the celebrations.

I remember listening to my ipod walking to work, or on the bus, daydreaming about Javier lifting the Champions league trophy. Ronaldo, the 5th of May, Mancini, the scudetto of justice, the Mancini cycle. The incredible Mourinho times, the victories against Chelsea, Barca. Bojan scoring for Barca and that second when I thought they broke our hearts again, before the goal was disallowed. Milito.

There was a sense of achievement for me after the treble that almost worried me. It was like thinking “we did it, it’s done, we can never outdo this, we can only match it”.

And then there’s now. So many Inter legends have stepped down. Moratti is gone. And for the first time EVER, I find myself not watching Inter games. It’s sad, but I just don’t feel the excitement. I don’t even shout when we score, like I’ve always done.

I’m not one of those fans that only supports the team when they’re winning, trust me, not me. But my Inter passion is sick. I need it back.

Does anybody else feel the same?

Let me join the club Frisko, my sentiments exactly, except that i'm abit younger and know less than you do. Feels like during the dark years (before calciopoli) our team looked to be angry and had fighting spirit to win things, of course the same was after calciopoli but cannot say the same thing for the recent years that we sucked balls and had no strategy whatsoever.

I don't feel like I have the same passion like I used to have before few years, but of course I'd still be able to do crazy things for Inter and we all still support the team, but the club needs to give something back to us, perhaps the pride? :/

Yup, I used to shout or jump of joy in front of the tv.
I remember when we had that awesome comeback against Sampdoria, i think, or when, you are not gonna believe it, but we had sex for the first time with my girlfriend, who is now my wife in the night when we won the Champions League. yeah, how awesome is that? :)

these are dark times indeed, we fall into mediocrity, and we ,as supporters can't do shit about it.

It happens to all of us. I do shout and all that shit, but in big games only. Against JuBe or Milan.

I remember back in 2002 when I cried like little bitch. I remember how much i Shouted when Pandev scored vs. Milan + Rocchi, and even MORE, when Cesar saved that penalty against Dinho.

And now, i do want us to win. I do celebrate, but not as passion as before. And when we lose, i only feel sad. Not pissed of, not hating, just sad. :( Every defeat still hurts. And every win still feels good, but not that much since i know that we will fail eventually, after a game or two.

We will get our passion guys. Don't worry. We will get it. But first, OUR DAMN PLAYERS need to have it. If they don't fight, we won't either. We will feel down allright, but it's not like before, when the win meant something. Now, a win only against jube and BB, as our main rivals, mean.

Its not Mazzarri, it started way before he came.

These are dark times, indeed, but we will get better and we will return to greatness, im sure about it.

For me it's more recent. Under strama we as shit, but i did have some excitement. The players showed more desire and passion with him, and he himself as well. I did watch every game of ours and celebrated the wins.

For me it started with Mazzarri.

I had trouble sleeping before the 2nd leg vs Schalke, hoping we'd turn the result. Nowdays I'm just hoping we don't lose. However I still do get excited when we score, so I guess I got that going for me, which is nice.

But do you celebrate as you did before? Or does the defeats hurt as they did before?

I guess that's due to getting used to lose, and knowing wins don't mean much as we'd lose anyway in the next game or two.

the thing that bothers me the most is , when players dont even play to win, we are ok with a draw , no winning mentality

I still watch the games, but now it feels more like a chore.. Before I was excited for an Inter game and would count down the days till the next match, now I still watch to support them but most of the excitement is gone..

And yeah I also don't celebrate hard any more, unless its a big game vs Jube or Bilan.. Most of the time I lose concentration watching the regular games too, I don't watch them on the edge of my seat like I used to

The team looks unmotivated as fuck, and that in itself makes me feel unmotivated and less passionate for this current team. Now add that to everything else and it's just terrible. Our play is so uninspiring and our wins even look poor most of the time. I can't believe this has gotten to the point where I worry or believe the team will lose at home to fucking Bologna or something.

The team needs a good motivator like Simeone, Leonardo, hell the players loved Strama when he was first appointed manager and at the beginning of the 12/13 season. Someone to make the team hungry to win.

I feel exactly the same, the only difference though that I see myself watching Inter every week just as an act of habit, I just watch.. just like when I have to go to the bathroom to piss or going to the kitchen to eat.. I`m not expecting anything anymore watching Inter now, except maybe the frustration during and after watching another mediocre performance and a disappointing lose, I also dont shout when we score anymore cause these goals are almost tasteless.. they have no meaning and I dont feel that they help us achieve any major goals.

I still have blue fire in me though, Inter has surged its way so deep in my heart that I cant get it off my mind or preferences, even when I buy any new item whether it`s a piece of cloth or even a mouse pad or whatever, it should include any of Inter colors, it`s my background, my source of tasting and living no matter what.

Dman Frisko, this thread makes me wana do something.. for the time being let`s cry and weep together, group weeping hug in the shower tonight! :`:)`:)`(

Same as you Dev, as much as we are shit and unentertaining, I'd still do anything to watch the match, I was in another city last week (5 hours drive from my city) and I'm about to go home in the day when Inter plays Viola, though I was tired from driving all day I just drove as fast as I can (safely) to catch the game, the estimated arriving time at home would be in the second half of the game, knowing that I had to go to my bro's home to watch the game. When I got home and was about to go my bro's, he called me and said Inter is down 2-0... Couldnt believe thay I did every possible thing to catch the game and was thinking all day about the game, and then this happens.. I decided not to go though and just slept. And trust me I'm not a forever alone, but I'm really too obssesed to Inter.

I believe we started being shit and disorganized since 2011-2012, though we have shown some flashes of bad form before in Leo's season but that was so fine as we finished second. But during Gasp and Ranieri season, and since that season up untill now we are shit, we are inconsistent as hell and never had a "fine" season since then, we win important games like against Milan twice and Juve but we still lack consistency, that consistentcy that every club need, which is win all the must-win-games against small clubs.

The reason why we dont celebrate as much as before, is the fact that we know we will lose next game or the game after.

Inter is a bit like heroin or coke. We've all had the highest of the highs: the treble (the first time you try it). And we lived though the lowest of the lows when when went more than a decade without a scudetto and lost a scudetto on the final game of the season (the first time you try to kick it and get crazy withdrawals) etc. So now everything seems sort of tame in comparison.

So yes, I can empathise. And no I've never had a drug problem
