Just a tip, put space every punctuation. ;) And try to avoid "..??". A simple "?" would do. But of course "..." is perfectly fine. :D

???? are used when you are really surprised or soemthing like that. WHY THE HELL DIDNT MANCINI PLAY ADRIANO TODAY???? , this statement wont look good with one question mark. Similarly, when you are writing something like 'Is pizzaro gonna play'? then one question mark is fine

I suck at writing, so I don't expect much from people..
But I always enjoy reading those who write well (Jimmy, Handoyo, Eddy, Miki, Hamed, Jake, Helal, etc)..
And I like the way other posters sthrive to make the points, and they do it really well (Zzang is one of my favourite).

As long as they are easy to read. I care more on the message the poster bring. When they are calm and bring many ideas, arguing sensibly.. I like them.. You want to get something out of someone's writing.

And I actually try to post more, so that I can improve my writing by doing. I am one of those people who make a lot of typhos... and always re-edit my post after I posted it. Thank God, this forum have 'edit post' feature.

So Jimmy, First you scan a post, see if all the capital, punctuations etc.. are there then you read it? If so, then it sucks to be you

In this forum, there exists a minority of would-be pedants with regards to writing style. Handoyo is certainly one of them! ;) :D

Anyways, writing style has always been an important factor, not least because one will be writing posts and/or articles on internationally accessible fora. Good form in writing will always ensure greater readership. :)

Ciao,
Tim

No. ;) I still read majority of the posts unless it's totally incorrigible. It's just a small irritation for me. Kinda like a mosquite bite, you know. :D

Don't be like Tim and write all these kind of "pedants" or "fora" or whatever it is though. It's better to be incorrigible than un-understandable! :D:p

Surely this is one of the forums where I find people with high level of literacy skills. Exercising writing styles can avoid corruption of the language, caused by "txt msging" ;) . English isn't my first language, and so I don't really expect people to write with 0 errors grammatically and use the hardest vocabularies around :) .

Some of the spellings used on here are pretty hilarious :D

I'm not going to complain though, my language skills suck these days!

No offence, Tim, but will you ever get bored of this "dictionary-reading before bedtime" routine? Just if I was reading your posts as somebody who doesn't speak English as their first language, I'd be sat there thinking "wtf is this guy on?!"

As much as it's nice to use "proper English", it's for the better good of the forum if people can actually understand what you're posting ;)

I don't mean for me, I just get the feeling some people might find a few of those words tough to understand. I think a fair majority of English people would do.

Your usage of language is pretty impressive though, don't take this badly!

yeah sometimes I have some difficulties in understanding some of the words Miki use, so I would appreciate if you wrote words that I actually don't have to look up in a dictionary. I know my English is far from perfect on the contrary, I'm not that linguistic strong. and that is why I **** the grammar up when I write in English. I have never had that many problems in reading and understanding foreign languages but my problem is to express myself.

Just bookmark Dictionary.com or obtain an application (like macintosh has :D) that has a dictionary feature, that way you can search words real quickly as you read.

I can't write without being in proper form, it just doesn't feel natural to me at all. I usually go back and read my posts to check for errors; I guess it's just me, I have to always be presentable.

It doesn't irritate me very much, if at all actually, unless it is something blatant where you can tell the person made no effort whatsoever to write correctly. It's a courtesy thing. If you don't take the time to be neat for me, why would I read the messy post for you?

I definitely notice mistakes in peoples posts but many of them are understandable because we have many people who aren't very comfortable with English.

It's like my italian, or when you Brits laugh at my spelling of honor. (I really wish it was spelled honour and colour over here, i think it's much better!)

If you ask me, neither grammar or spelling errors have significant impact on your writing style; it's mostly about the correct punctuations and capital letters.
