I'm looking forward to the English pundits pre-match commentary almost as much as the game itself. All the tiny passive aggressive derogatory remarks regarding italian football and Inter, just to see the meltdown of the same pundits after the match.

Fuck Tottenham :slick:

Also 1000th post.

Why the hell should we park the bus against tottenham? Maybe it's a terminology thing but I do not advocate for parking the bus. We can be smart strategically without totally compromising our mentality, which is win every game and do it as close as we can to "our" way. We can try to change our tempo more to include faster attacks. We could commit less players forward so as not to be too exposed on the counter. We should absolutely try to counter their main creative weapon (eriksen) with man-marking. Or be very physical against dele with vecino.

But we shouldn't just park the bus. At least not this season and not in this kind of game. This season is about building the mentality of our team and players; that we belong on this stage and can absolutely play at this level against any opponent. We may take a hit here and there this season, but instilling that mentality is very important for subsequent seasons.

Tactics are meaningless if the players don't actually believe it will work or that they will win......

Agree 100%. Everything you've described relies on competence and execution. That said, we simply don't have a large enough sample pool / evidence of big games in recent years let alone under Spalletti's 16 months in charge to say "we've done this before, we can do it again."

I'm cautiously optimistic. The key word is "cautiously".

I want to see us try to impose our game like we did to lazio. Obviously spurs are better but if we want to be the best again we need to play like the home team vs good teams even if we are away

- - - Updated - - -

Fucking hate the whole english football community. Always thinking they are the best, best league and so on. Hope we fucking trash them at the fucking Wembley stadium.

We have the better team, my only fear is whether Spalletti goes for a draw and park the bus... Fuck these english idiots.

It is the best league in terms of popualrity accross the world.

As an english man i rmemeber the days that none of the big players would come to prem but now they all do for the most part. Premierleague has become a powerhouse and whilst thats not always for the good of football i find it odd to be annoyed at a top league having followers that beleive it is the best

I love serie a,always have always will but i know fans who used to argue serie a was the best in 2013 ffs

zealots. every league has them. prem or elsewhere.

no point hating on leagues though. watch them all like me lol

i missed this whole thing... being worried, hyped, all you want. After 8 fucking years we finally see some football. And i dont care if we have to play against Tottenham, it was already clear that you have to face big teams in the CL and not Dundelak or Olympiacos. Thats the great thing about CL. The best against the best. This is why the Champions League is amazing! To go trough with Barca, Tottenham and PSV would give us a great feeling

Specialy after so many years without CL. Tottenham deserves respect for what they did in this years. Nobody can say that loosing against them is a bad thing, Inter still made a lot and is improving every game.
Of course win or a draw would be better, we are not some mid table club, i want to win today. But again, this Inter made a lot considering it's "year 1". And i hope we continue where we ended and not where we started (against Atalanta). Thats the important thing. Only if Tottenham makes an amazing game i will not be fucked up. BUT Inter has to be Inter, the team with 7 DESERVED points with a great group, great defend, wordclass players.. - what you expect from a top club. A Top 16 CL club.

Not the whole game, but say the last 20-30 minutes if we have to.

At least I don't think they played a NFL game the day before like they did for some time ago. Only retards think this works. What a joke that field was against I think Man City.

That was unfortunate circumstances, but entirely Tottenham's fault. Their stadium was supposed to be ready in September. I even think the NFL had scheduled one of their London games for that stadium (obviously, not in a week where Spurs had a home game), but when the stadium got delayed and they were stuck at Wembley, there was a scheduling crisis that happened. That's what resulted in that Spurs/City game being played with yardlines (which, admittedly, made it easier than ever to track vertical passes, I must admit). The NFL game that was played the day before was the last scheduled game in London for 2018, though, so that issue won't be a concern again for any Spurs opponents.

I'm worried because Nainggolan is in shit form,he was very meh against Frosinone! I like Gags more than Vecino tbh.
Hoping for some Politano magic and that Ivane plays more like he does for Croatia...he needs to wake the fuck up!
I hope Asamoah can shut down Eriksen and we need to be careful with Dele Ali.
Let's do a "garra charrua" again

I have nothing against parking a bus repeatedly... up their assholes for the duration of the match.

Considering in the last 25 years only 8 coaches have managed to win the EPL, of which half are Italian - Ancelotti, Mancini, Ranieri, Conte... Can't see how they can afford to make any such remarks. The others are Dalglish, Ferguson, Wenger and Mourinho. Currently, Sarri is showing them how it's done with a very average squad, comparatively.

Vice-President Javier Zanetti said Inter are “fired up and aware of what awaits us” against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.

It kicks off at 20.00 GMT at Wembley and the Nerazzurri need only a point to qualify for the Round of 16.

“We are already fired up for the game and can’t wait to see how things develop this evening,” Zanetti told Inter TV.

“I saw the lads very concentrated, they are preparing with the Coach in the team hotel. We know that this is an important match, we are aware of what awaits us and what it means to get a result here.

“Hopefully it will all go well.”

“We know a point here would be enough to qualify, but we always play to win and that’s the only way we know how to approach a game.

“We are fully aware it’s going to be difficult, as we are up against a strong side with very talented players, but if we think about only getting a point, we will lose.”

Perisic is a well-known transfer target for Manchester United, so he was asked in the London Press conference if he’d like to play in England.

“I’ve already said it would be a dream and anything is possible in football, but right now I am concentrated on Inter. I am working hard for my team, though I didn’t have much rest or pre-season training due to the World Cup.” - Ivan

Let`s play with some pride. :proud: FORZA INTER!
