This "wE sUck aGaINSt sPanIsh tEamS" argument is getting annoying. We beat Barcelona last year and knocked them out.

Amazing one win and we haven’t won a single game in spain nearing 20 years in the European tournament. The last time was against Valencia in 2004 as far as I recall and it’s the only team we ever beat in Spain this Millennium in those tournaments. So suck is rather good description

The past is what made and formed this club, you, me, our world, our nations, our reality, without a past(story) there will be nothing, everything would be meaningless, a run for a scudetto can only happen if the past count.

The star on a jersey would be meaningless, the emblem/badge used to show you won something would be meaningless all our 19 scudetto has no value either.

The past matters both the good and the bad, no one would have a passion for the sport or this team if not for the past.

The italian teams vs spanish team bias in favour of the spanish teams is heavily inflated due to the 10+ years italian slumber period though, where spanish teams had crazy squads and success.

Both Rube and Milan had positive records VS spanish teams pre 2010 ftr, Rube still does (the one team that wasnt garbage bin quality during the 10+ year italian down period, what a wild coincidence huh?)

So if you want to talk 'history' perhaps its worth looking at all the facts...

Also, only a complete dumb@ss would think that it really has any relevance or influence to to the outcome of Atl Madrid vs Inter in 2024.

You guys are the type that eat up those dumb stats they show on TV like "x club hasn't won in this stadium in 20 years" when they played matches in 1995, 2003 and 2008". Like half the players weren't even born when that stat began. Hilarious.

Would have preferred Dortmund but this is a good draw for us, even though a trickier one.

Tough team but what can we expect in the knockout phase, that also as a runner up in the group.

It is useless to discuss on the match now, as it is months later. Lets see how the teams are doing well then and with squad status then.

At this point i find insulting that we are behind the likes of Arsenal/PSG/Barça to win CL in bet odds. Yeah much better being the darkhorse, but what this team has to do to gain worlds respect? almost won against City a final!

A few consistent seasons in the CL and reaching at least the last 4 would gain us that respect. One CL final since our treble season is not enough.

We haven't beaten a big team in CL standard yet. Couldn't beat Sociedad once even.
Should we pass AM then odds should be much higher.

Come on man. What's the top team that Arsenal has beat in Europe to be the 4th CL favorite? They're so high only because of EPL hype.

4th is stretched but Arsenal have just beaten the first seed fair and square. It cant be said the same for us.

You can blame other Serie As being so shit to get too little exposure. Hence our butchering here is rated so low.

If Milan or Juve are the e.g. 2003 teams you would see different odds. Even only with Serie A matches.

Arsenal just beat Liverpool, I'd say that is a big team. Yeah, EPL hype is the difference, I'd say Arsenal has as much chances to reach the CL final as Inter. Probably only City and Real have bigger chances. Can't trust this Bayern

Domestic is entirely different to CL. Napoli were also steamrolling Serie A last season but when time came they failed in Europe.

Arsenal have reached CL final once in their entire history and they haven't been in semi finals since 2008/09. Till i see any proof I would trust Bayern and even this Barcelona before trusting Arsenal in CL.

Well, Barcelona with Xavi, meh. I have no trust in them. While Bayern is wild in form this season. They could be one of the primary contenders, but my gut says they don't reach the semis this season.

I see no point in angrying over CL odds. If we beat the Spanish you'll see we overleap Arsenal. Or if we lose, it proves they rate us just right.

Iirc, losing every big matches but one (Barca 1-0) since returning to the glorified stage doesn't help. It's like Ballon D'Or, sometimes people ratings make no sense but that'd how votes and odds work.

Yeah odds are impacted by whom you play against.
Both ours and Atletico's odds are getting hampered due to facing each other.

Arsenal plays Porto, so they are expected to qualify, which gives them a better platform for the latter rounds. If they draw Real Madrid in the next round and we draw PSV/Dortmund then those odds would look much better for us.

Yeah you guys are right. Arsenal and Barça have way better fixtures than us. It's Porto and Napoli, vs Atletico Madrid.
If it was the opposite we would be in Arsenal place in the odds.
