But I don't understand why J.Zanetti came in, Cordoba did an excelent job as RB. And after Zanetti's performence last evning he should not start against Milan.
Have to agree with Jake here ->

Why might have Mancini subbed out Burdisso for J.Zanetti that early ?? Any particular reasons ?? injury or tactical ??
perhaps burdisso is not a good friend of his! ;)
You always keep saying this? What´s bugging you so much? That Mancini wanted Mihajlovic or because he played Adriano-Vieri duo which is not your favourite duo? You think every other coach would not use that duo, ever? Aaaarrgghhh!!!!!!!!!! It´s quite hard to please everyone...

One of the best Inter match in 1/2 a decade and it was not shown.:rollani: I couldn't imagine what would it be if I can watch it together with Tim. :D Well Tim, you should be glad that we can't otherwise I'm sure we'll bring your house down. :D

Anyway, I almost overlook the fact that Javier Zanetti didn't start the match. I love Inter more than any player, including Il Capitano himself, and if we can thrash Valencia 5-1, I'm fine with any kind of starting line-up. I'm very very worried about Captain's situation though. This is the first time in my life that he started 2 games on the bench in a row. What is wrong? Could Mancini dislike him for tactical reasons? Was Zanetti too tired against Udinese after his international duty with Argentina and was rested for Valencia and save him for the Derby? I don't know. I just hope that Zanetti could start starting again and become the old Zanetti that we know. Anyway, me and Tim were talking yesterday and if there really is a conflict between the captain and the coach, we'll choose the former without even blinking.

Before this match, I was completely pessimistic for the Derby. It was worsen by the fact that Sheva played very well against Barca ecspecially in the first half. But it all changed after the next 45 minutes. I am very glad that Vieri can finally score in 2 games in a row. I can't even remember when is the last time! Valencia is really Vieri's b!tch. ;) 3 goals in the last 3 games against them. :D

Adriano Adriano...No words can express what kind of a player he is. :proud::star:

Javier Zanetti (the member) and INTER_FAN, please please please provide us the link to download this match. :(:depress: You know how we feel right now, unable to watch one of the greatest victory in Inter's history. :( If you can provide the link, I will be forever grateful of you guys. :proud:

After the massacre in Mestalla..........TO THE DERBY! :fero::irritate::scared::frustrat::scream: Forza ragazzi forza ragazzi!

What the phuck?? :frustrat:

Zanetti's performance was outstanding. Only once he let Angulo pass him, but comparing to Cordoba's performance as RB Javier was much better. .

What.....Cordoba didn't let RUfet get passe him once, wheile J.Zanetti did and he didn't play near as long time. he had one run op the field which caused a goal and sudanly he played better then Cordoba. You can't really comparised them since he didn't play much yesterday. And the moste of the game where he was on the pitch Valencia had falled appart. Cordoba totaly stoped his opponent and also helped in the middel without him in the first half Valencia would have scored. Or they would atleast have got some more chances. Yes he was a littel brutal but so was Rufete. Actualy many of the players where and we where lucky that Stankovic wasent sent off. There should atleaste have been to red cards in that game one to each team. And you should also remember that J.Zanetti is more ofencive player then Cordoba is. And it would also have been to risky to let Cordoba go up the flank in the first half cause of the big preseure and the many ball loses there where. in that time of the game.

Your credibility is being shattered, when you say that Rufete was the player on Cordoba and Zanett´s flank. It was Angulo.

Cordoba was in for defensive purpose in order to make sure they dont score on us and to take Angulo or anyone coming down that side out of the game...which i think he did impressively,he didnt perform at that level for some time and its reassurring that we saw that yesterday..

Burdisso got a slight injury though and that is why he was moved to the middle and JZ to the right because at that point we could afford to be more offensive from the RB position...I am sure though Cordoba got instructions not to press forward and that the his priority was defending. As for JZ i thought his game was good and his run was nice..Yes someone got passed him(dont rememeber who) but overall he was playing well...In fact all our subs movements were magnificent 2 scored goal and JZ could have but he unselfishly assissted Adriano to gift him a goal he deserved.. :star:

Well it saddens me to say this. But IMO defencevely our very own Il Capitano was horrible/shaky last night. :(:stress: Offencevely he was great again though. :star: What happened to the old J. Zanetti? :depress:

So if Burdisso is ready :)scared:) I want yesterday´s backline repeated on Sunday. Cordoba, despite my expectations, were terrific as the RB. He litterally shattered any dream of a Valencia player getting past him.

Yesterday we IMO rediscovered Super Café. :strong:

Cordoba - Burdisso - Materazzi - Favalli

This backline was very impressive...

Favalli sure is one hell of a calamity when he has the ball. A stable defender, but worthless with the ball. Except for that cross, of course.

Your right Ziyad, they had different instructions by Mancio and as RB´s, they are two completely different players. If Burdisso is 100% for Sunday, then Cordoba should be given the role again as we, at the moment, don´t need our RB´s to support our flanks that much, they have the quality to produce something by themselves.

Just happy to see everything went we planned, squad morale must be at it´s highest right now with the hole team experiencing individual succes, something worth a damn lot in modern football.

I haven´t seen anyone in this forum yet go crazy over Adriano´s magic dribble, cheating Caneira ( i bet he´s still on the pitch trying to figure out what happened) to go close to score. Would have been the best goal in years in CL!!!!!

Yes, I´m with you on this one. Favalli was excellent defencevely but his passes were horrible. But I don´t expect more from Favalli than he did yesterday where I found him very good. Also from a full back I expect consistency defencevely. Then if the player is good offencevely too that´s a bonus.

Oh, absoletely. It was pure magic, just too bad he didn´t shoot immediately though when he had the chance. A thing worth noticing about this situation was that he did dribble right which some claim is not in his repertoire.

Bam Bam that was one hell of a move and the director played it over and over more than any other goal probably...It would have sealed the Ballon d Ore ;)

I think another episode we forgot about in our state of nirvana was the Stan miss when he was infront of goal completley but shot wide, after Adriano gave him a brilliant pass...

That could have been an episode we regret because after that the match got to 2-1 and Valencia were pumped up..

I didn´t forget about it. I simply "never minded" it because it didn´t mean anything in the end.

Oh the Stan miss, i´m embarrassed to say i wished him to hell after that, our recent history with leading by two in the 2nd half and not winning beared in mind.

Just found out it was Navarro who got puncked, even though I didn´t see any Ashton Kutcher, my bad !!!

It was really worth to be awake till 02.00 am. :star:

Almost everything has been said (special thanks for Jake's match report in Writers' section) so I do just my ratings for this game.

Fontana 7
Cordoba 7
Burdisso 6,5
Materazzi 7
Favalli 6,5
Veron 5,5
Emre 6
Cambiasso 7,5
Stankovic 7
Vieri 6,5
Adriano 8

subs:
J.Zanetti 6,5
Van Der Meyde and Cruz played too little to get a grade.

Mancini 7

edit: About Mancini's formation that included major bug, I think. I have nothing to complain about formation where Veron plays more or less on the right wing. But if Veron plays there Mancini has to use either J.Zanetti or Ze Maria as right fullback. Cordoba played extremely well defensivly as right fullback but he has no attacking ability whatsoever. That's why we lacked width big time in the first half and it has naturally very bad effect to our attacking game.
